Gerard Butler's voice was all wrong for the role.

No it was not! He sings with more emotion than MC who did a great job either

I thought Gerard did well. He's a good singer, imo! From what I've heard of MC's voice though, he's also great. But I got to love Phantom through GB and I love the movie, so that was why I picked GB. :-)

I thought Gerard Butler conveyed Phantom's emotions pretty well, there was nothing to complain about when it came to singing either . (:

Gerald Butler is the bomb!!!!!!!!

Gerard Butler cannot sing the role of the Phantom it is as simple as that... Michael Crawford adds that mystery that desire for the Phantom, he keeps you intrigued and makes you fall in love with the Phantom with his voice alone and really that is what he does with Christine.. Gerard does not by any means have that.. In my opinion he totally destroyed the role, yeah he's nice to look at but really that really has nothing to do with this role.

Gerard Butler was to handsome. I think he did a good job but it will never be like Michael Crawford who was basicly the original phantom! I got teased by my friends because I had a huge crush on Gerard Butler when I was nine XD
