Seven-month-old Gabriel Scott Johnson was last seen on December 27, 2009 from San Antonio, Texas.

Disappearance
On December 18, 2009, Gabriel was abducted by his mother, Elizabeth Johnson from Tempe, Arizona. Elizabeth took Gabriel to San Antonio, Texas, driving her grandfather's white 1995 Oldsmobile Delta 88.

Gabriel and Elizabeth arrived in San Antonio on December 22, 2009 and stayed in two motels in the area. He was last seen with Elizabeth on December 27th. Elizabeth left San Antonio on a Greyhound bus without Gabriel, leaving her grandfather's car behind in San Antonio.

Elizabeth was supposed to appear in family court for a custody hearing on December 28, 2009, but she never showed up and a warrant for custodial interference was issued. On December 30, 2009, she was arrested at a youth hostel in Miami Beach, Florida, but she didn't have Gabriel with her. Elizabeth was indicted for custodial inteference, kidnapping and child abuse.

Gabriel's father and Elizabeth's ex-boyfriend, Logan McQueery got a series of disturbing text messages from Elizabeth, who told him that he would never see Gabriel again, she killed the baby and threw him in a trash bin. Elizabeth also called Logan repeatedly to tell him that she killed Gabriel. Elizabeth later stated that she made up those false cliams to upset Logan.

Elizabeth said that she gave Gabriel to a man and woman named Cheryl, whom she met in a park while in San Antonio. She said that she spent three days with the couple, but deliberately tried not to remember the couple's last names or the description of their care so she wouldn't be able to take Gabriel back from them if she changed her mind.

At the time of Gabriel's disappearance, he was being considered for adoption by a couple, Tammy Peters Smith and Jack Smith. They spent a few weeks with Gabriel in December and bonded with him. Logan refused to give up his parental rights and felt that the Smiths were trying to force him to agree to the adoption.

Tammi and Jack are considered persons of interest in Gabriel's disappearance because they were the last people to see Gabriel before he disappeared. In February of 2010, Tammi was arrested and charged with forgery, custodial interference and conspiracy to commit custodial interference in Gabriel's case.

According to court documents, Tammi had played a "deceptive role" in the investigation, making numerous false statements to the media and the police, as well as withholding information from investigators. Despite claiming her innocence, Tammi admitted to writing the name of one of her cousins on a paternity document stating that he was Gabriel's biological father, not Logan.

In March of 2010, Logan was granted full custody of Gabriel; Elizabeth was denied visitation or any access to Gabriel. Logan hired a private investigator, Ken Gamble, who believes that Gabriel is alive, and was either given away or sold to Elizabeth by a couple in San Antonio

The last known pictures of Gabriel were taken with Elizabeth's cell phone in the Homegate Hotel. In several of them, he is seen holding a medicine bottle (possibly infant Tylenol) and appears lethargic, with his eyes are half-closed. A babysitter hired by Elizabeth during this time said that Elizabeth told her she had given Gabriel some medicine and to give him more if he became fussy.

In May of 2010 during a jailhouse interview, Elizabeth reportedly confessed to murdering Gabriel for a third time. In June of 2010, she was declared incompetent to stand trial and spent three months in court-ordered treatment; she was found competent in September of 2010.

In October of 2012, Elizabeth was convicted of custodial interference and unlawful inprisonment; however, she was not convicted of kidnapping. Although her lawyer argued for probation, Elizabeth was sentenced to five and a quarter years in prison; she got credit for three years' time served.

Elizabeth apologized for her actions at her December 2012 sentencing and said she'd given Gabriel away because she wanted him to have a better life. She was released from prison in July 2014.

Since her release from prison, Elizabeth had a baby girl. She also legally changed her name twice: once to Elizabeth Martinez, and then again to Naomi Aragon in 2022, citing "stalker and harassment" as the reason for her second name change.

As of 2024, Gabriel remains missing. The authorities are investigating his disappearance as a kidnapping/homicide, suspecting that Elizabeth probably killed him; they are considering filing murder charges against her.
