Shy’Kemmia Pate

On the evening of September 4, 1998, eight-year-old Shy’Kemmia Pate was last seen playing outside her home in Unadilla, Georgia. The neighborhood where she lived in had a high crime rate with drug use and gambling.

Shy'Kemmia's family had plans to attend a football game at night. Her older sister decided to get gas for her car and return home to pick up Shy'Kemmia. When the sister came back, she realized that Shy'Kemmia was missing.

At first, the family thought that Sky'Kemmia got a ride to the football with somebody else or went to play at a friend's house; when they were unable to find her later that night, they called the police, who mistakenly told them that Shy'Kemmia had to be missing for over 24 hours before they could investigate her disappearance.

The authorities have gotten numerous tips about Shy'Kemmia's disappearance, but none of them were legit. Neighbors consented for their homes to be searched, but they turned up no evidence.

As of 2023, Shy'Kemmia has not been located. The police believe that she was taken by somebody that she knew, but her family members have been ruled out as suspects. She has multiple medical conditions such as severe asthma, an underdeveloped kidney, a weak bladder and a displaced kneecap which required her to wear a leg brace.
