1994 version
So, here is my comparison on both the animated version and its live-action reboot. Ready?

The Story

While the majority of the story is the same, there are a couple of changes in the story, like we get to see plus of Scar, Sarabi and Nala shortly after Simba was exiled and Mufasa's death. (Tied)

The Characters

One thing that I am very impressed is that both Nala and Sarabi have plus character developments in this reboot. I am very happy for her independence and bravery throughout the entire film. (2019 Version)
Scar on the other hand, is very much like King Stefan from Maleficent despite that his personality from the animated feature remains the same. Especially the final battle scene, he would send chills to your spine! Despite this, I still prefer Jeremy Irons as Scar. (1994 Version)
Whereas Timon and Pumbaa, they have plus wittiness and charisma than their animated counterpart, even though I prefer their animated versions, in terms of their appearances! But, good job! (Tied)
Finally, I am also very happy that the hyenas are plus instead of 3 when we first meet them. But at the same time, I was also very happy that Shenzi is the leader of the group. The way they kill Scar in the end is plus graphic and scarier than the animated version, so bravo! (Tied)

The Songs & The Musical Score

While the majority of the songs are the same, I was disappointed that "Be Prepared" is shortened for this reboot. (1994 Version)
On the other hand, there are 2 new songs that were written for this version. They are "Spirit" and "Never Too Late", I was really déplacer par these 2 songs to start off with. (2019 Version)
On the witty side, I l’amour how Timon and Pumba sang "Be Our Guest" from Disney's Beauty and the Beast! I was actually expecting them to do the Hula Dance. But, I guess that they want to do something different. (Tied)

Team 1994 ou Team 2019?

So, which version do toi prefer? If toi ask me, I would go for both of them, mainly because they are good in their own ways.
 2019 Version!

Nuka was born before the Outsiders came to Pride Rock Scar saw that Nuka was both physically and mentally unstable.

Luckily, Zira wouldn't give up hope. One was a girl. Which Scar didn't approve of. She then went out again she a volé, étole Kovu who was just born. They attacked Zira. But she killed both the parents.

"Born in Grief, Raised in Hate, Helpless to Defy his fate."
-line in "one of us"

Zira didn't tell Kovu he was adopted until he was older. All he told him was Scar wasn't his father. Until one jour he asked who his real father was and Zira had to tell the truth that she wasn't the real mother.

All lions (including the outsiders) weren't allowed to leave Pride Rock but Scar made an exception for Zira to find a good heir.

An archetype is a model device commonly used in media, and there are quite a few of them present in The Lion King. Sometimes archetypes are used to allow the viewer to make a better connection with a character ou narrative, sometimes they are used to symbolise something important, and sometimes they are used simply because it makes sense to do so. Here are just some of the archetypes used in the 1994 animated movie...

Reluctant Hero
This is, of course, Simba. The Reluctant Hero is a common archetype used in a lot of movies, and is normally the protagonist. Simba is the good guy and the rightful...

Tangu siku sisi kufika katika dunia
Na blinking, hatua katika jua
Kuna zaidi ya kuona kuliko unaweza milele kuonekana
Zaidi ya kufanya ila anayeweza kufanywa
(From the jour we arrive on the planet
And blinking, step into the sun
There's plus to see than can ever be seen
More to do than can ever be done)

Kuna mno kuchukua katika hapa
Zaidi kupata kuliko hayawezi kupatikana
Lakini jua rolling juu
Njia ya anga yakuti
Anaendelea kubwa na ndogo juu ya pande zote kutokuwa na mwisho
(There's far too much to take in here
More to find than can ever be found
But the sun rolling high
Through the sapphire sky
Keeps great...
