Hunger Games Question

What do toi think Gale was going to say?????

In the first book of thg, they had the reaping, prim was chosen, katniss took her place, peeta was chosen, then later in the justice building all the people come to visit Katniss and say goodbye.
At the end Gale comes and talks to her. (quote)

"The Peacekeepers are back too soon and Gale asks for plus time, but they're taking him away and I start to panic. "Don't let them starve!" I cry out, clinging to his hand. "I won't! toi know I won't! Katniss, remember I -" he says, and they yank us apart and slam the door and I'll never know what it was he wanted me to remember."

It was probobaly "I l’amour you" but i'm not 100% sure. What do toi think????

please let me know.

I don't think he was going to say I l’amour you. Maybe I'll always be there for toi ou I promised ou something to do with their hunger games deal. But, only Collins really knows, ou maybe she doesn't. That's why she didn't write it. I mean what do toi say to your best friend when she's being sent off to the slaughter house?

And I'm pain shipping. Gale can die a thousand deaths in hell for everything he did in Mockingjay.

Yeah!!!!!! And he's not important but what ended happening to him? did he get a job and die while working ou something ou does Collins just end it that way to montrer that Katniss is really over Gale and always there for Peeta?

He gets an important job in district 12, which is total BS if toi ask me. Yes, he did help in the rebellion, but not as much as Katniss. It's infair he gets to live the good life while Katniss suffers over the losts of her loved ones. Even though she definitely wants nothing to do with an important job.

I think he was going to tell Katniss that he loved her, since the odds of her making it back alive to District 12 were very slim. I'd always assumed he'd been in l’amour with her for awhile, and was too nervous to tell her, lest their friendship be damaged.

I'm a Gale fan, personally.

Well, toi never know, there could've been multiple possibilities of what he was going to say, it could have been "I believe in you," ou "I know toi can make it," things like that, but he might've a dit I l’amour you.
Oh and I liked both of them before Mockingjay, then I grew hatred for Gale, a lot, so I like Peeta way plus now.

Gale certainly seems to have loved her, but here is the case for him not saying that:
-If toi know Katniss like Gale does, then toi know that him saying he loved her would not have helped her. Katniss putting energy into thinking about that ou pushing it out of her mind would not have been what he wanted. Unlike Peeta, they both care about survival and are less concerned with romance.
-The topic of discussion was taking care of her family. We later find out he promised he would do this. He may have wanted to remind her of that promise.
-Of all the attention and compliments Katniss received, the one that encouraged her most was Cinna saying he would bet on her if he could. Gale knows Katniss well, so he might have known to say something along those lines.
-Finally, it could have been that he needed her. I like to think that this is what it was. Later, when Peeta knows them both better, he even says this himself -that Gale needs her. At one point Gale says that the only way to get her attention is to be in pain, so Katniss knowing that he needs her could have motivated her to try to win.

I am still on team Peeta, though I don’t think Gale abandoned her. He was always a passionate strategist regarding politics, so it makes sense that he would work in that field in his “fancy” job. Gale is not heartless, and I can imagine he spends a career trying to advance social justice in politics with the burden of knowing what even he is capable of – taking innocent lives.

Moreover, Katniss and Gale already had a conversation about how she could never forgive him for what he did to Prim. How could he stick around and expect her to? It wouldn’t have been fair to her. Katniss can get confused about her feelings when Gale is around, and he knows Peeta can make her happy. He may have left because he loved her so much. Finally, after Katniss returns to 12 for a final time, the phone rings and rings, but she never answers. It certainly could have been Gale at least one of those times, and he respected her decision not to talk to him.

I doubt it was "I l’amour you" because he a dit she needed to remember this - it seemed like he was trying to remind her of something they'd already spoken about ou something she already knew. He hadn't told her that he loved her yet, so it wasn't something she could remember.

Also, Gale only kissed Katniss and told her he loved her in Catching feu because he believed he'd Lost her to Peeta. Before then, he'd stopped himself, probably because he knew her attitude towards relationships and having children. So again, he wouldn't be telling her that he loved her there.

Since the conversation before had been Katniss asking him to look after her family, maybe he was reminding her that he'd already promised to do so in the past.

It was going to be "I l’amour you". As soon as Katniss comes back home, he confesses his live for her, so it makes sense that "I l’amour you" would have been what he was trying to tell her.
