Holy Hephaestus in Hades! We've got new information, and at your request I'm giving toi my theories based on it. I think toi will be pleasantly surprised. I've kept the original information in there so that toi can reference it for yourself. I hope toi like it!

Jason
Jason's Coin:
Stamped on one side with the picture of a battle axe, with a man's face wreathed in laurels on the other, this piece of metal may come in handy for young demigod Jason.
What does it do?
This clever chunk of change has the power to turn into a weapon, with a simple toss in the air.
Noteworthy:
Sometimes this coin turns into a lance, sometimes it's a double-edged sword ... it all depends on the flip.

My Take on the Information
So, this is one weird coin, right? I think so, but it also makes some sense. Now, why would it matter about the flip as to which weapon it becomes? Ever heard of Tyche? Well, Fortuna to the Romans. She was the goddess of fortune, luck, and chance. Guess what else she was goddess of! Prosperity. Now, when I think prosperity, I think of money. What is Jason's weapon's neutral form? A coin. Money. Maybe this is indicative of a deity he is favoured par ou the one that gave him his weapon. Or, on a less likely note, maybe it is indicative of his immortal parent. But, there is also the possibility that the sword/lance was a gift from Hermes who was known for having a golden sword, and for being the god of commerce (currency and the economy.)
I present to toi one plus theory that I like a lot because it has a connection to the précédant series. Do toi remember what hero Percy met when he decided to take a dip in the Styx? Yup, Achilles. Well Achilles was the son of Peleus (and student of Chiron.) Peleus was married to Thetis, right? Well, when they got married, Peleus recieved two gifts. The first was a lance/spear from Chiron. It was made of ash wood, and Athena polished it. Hephaestus finished off the spear par giving it a beautiful tip. The other gift he was donné was a magical sword. Hephaestus had fashioned it for him. The sword was a dit to give the wielder victory in every battle he fought. I think that two famous weapons the same as Jason's belonging to a single person in mythology isn't a coincidence.

Piper
Piper's Dagger:
Proper name Katoptris, this weapon, sheathed in black leather, is the perfect tool for demigod Piper ... should she get caught in a scrap.
What does it do?
What does it do? Piper's chosen protective tool Katoptris is a ceremonial knife, useful in battle and is a symbol of power and status.
Noteworthy:
This couteau was originally a wedding present to Helen of Troy, and when looked upon, can montrer much plus than the holder's reflection.

My Take on the Information
So, now we've moved to my favourite weapon. The word, when researched, always returns results about reflections in a mirror, typically the person looking in the mirror's reflection. So, it seems easy enough, right? Piper sees herself in an extremely shiney dagger. Nope. Not so easy. If you'll read the information you'll notice that A. It's a cerimonial dagger like the Wiccan Athame (pronounced A-tha-may.) B. It's a symbol of power and status. C. It was a wedding gift to Helen of Troy (SPARTA) and D. It even says it shows much plus than the holder's reflection. So why would she have a ceremonial dagger? Well, when I associate dagger with ceremony, I think magic. If her mom is who I think she is, then there would be a connection. As toi all know I think Piper's mom is Persephone. The goddess of magic, Hecate, is always depicted as a close confidante and advisor to Persephone. It would stand to reason that Persephone would l’amour her daughter fiercely because she is very family oriented. If Persephone did l’amour her like that, then Hecate would probably think of Piper as a close niece ou god daughter and could possibly donné her the dagger as a gift. Next, Symbol of Power and Status. Wow, if your mom's Queen of the Underworld, I'm sure that counts as power and status, right? Nico's dad is King of the Underworld, and, as far as I know, Nico is the only demigod with a weapon made of Sygian Iron, marking him as prince of the Underworld. So, wouldn't it be logical, assuming that Piper is the only ou favoured child of Persephone, that she would have a weapon that says "Hey! I'm Princess of the Underworld! My Mom could kick your cul, ass fleur style!"? Aspect number three. The dagger was Helen's! The direct actions of Helen (and Paris) brought tons of people to the Underworld! Hades probably has a shrine to that woman! If the weapon belongs to the infamous Helen, then I'd say it's pretty important. What importance it holds because of this, I'm not sure....but it sure helps out my Persephone's daughter theory. Anyway, moving to the last. Well, it shows something other than a reflection, we know this. So what exactly is it? Maybe it shows danger. It could montrer one's soul....of course I don't think Piper's soul is an armor clad guy. (Please see the picture of Piper if toi don't get this one.) It might montrer one the path to what they need ou what they want. Piper's looking for her dad so this one might make sense. Or, if indeed her dad is the armored dude, it might montrer the thing that the holder wants most. Alright moving on.

Leo
Leo's Tool Belt:
On the surface, just an average tool belt, but the contents inside might just come in handy for demigod Leo.
What does it do?
When caught in battle ou another sticky situation, Leo has the power to pull any average tool that comes to his mind, right out of his trusty tool belt. All he has to do is ask.
Noteworthy:
Leo's requests for his tool ceinture must be limited to small everyday objects, no magic items here.

My Take on the Information
So, this is par far one of the coolest magical items I've ever seen. Ever. I can venture a good guess that this was a gift from Hephaestus. It has too much power to be something that one of his children rigged up, and it seems like it's right up his ally. Now, Leo can only pull mundane tools out like hammers, screwdrivers, saws.....wait saws! Holy Hephaestus! Can toi imagine the weaponry? Sure, they won't be normal weapons, but toi can still put someone's eye out with a nailgun! I think he will be doing a lot of tinkering and fixing during the quests...especially with the automaton, Festus, flying him around. He may even have to fix a few crossed circuits on a defunct robot his dad came up with! Could toi see the endless possibilities? This toolbelt is much plus than a handy thing to have around when a shield gets punctured. He could pick locks, repair damaged armor and broken weapons, and he could....well the possibilities are endless.

Hera
The goddess of marriage, Zeus' better half, also known as Juno in Roman mythology.
What does she do?
She's the Queen of the gods, but her power is a bit restricted at the moment, and she needs some demigod assistance.
Noteworthy:
In her Roman state, Juno is plus war-like and fierce than Hera the Greek goddess. Oh, and she doesn't have any demigod children.

My Take on the Information
So, this character information really threw me for a loop! I wasn't expecting to read what I did. I wasn't even prepared to give Hera any credit for this one. I'm used to her sitting in the background giving off heat waves of jealous anger. I think this means we might be seeing the goddess in a different light. She's going to need help! So why is she going to need help? Well her powers are restricted for some reason. If she's in need of the assistance of Leo, Jason, and Piper, I'd assume that it has something to do with Percy. Why? Well, R.R. pretty much handed us the information about the first quest. The trio (not the HP trio!) are going to be looking for Percy. Do toi want my honest opinion? Well, with the whole curse thing, and Hera's powers being cut off, I'd say that the Olympians are blaming Hera for the dissappearance, and Poseidon's pissed. Yeah, toi heard me! Remember back in PJO, Hera cursed Annabeth and the curse sort of affected Percy, too. The Gods, I'm sure, knew about the curse, and like us, they probably don't know if it's been called off ou not. Oh, one plus thing! We're going to get to see her, and probably some ou all of the other gods in their Roman form....I'm not too happy about that.

Festus
Festus:
Just your average, run-of-the-mill bronze mechanical dragon. Meet Festus, friend and chauffeur to the three young demigods.
What does it do?
Aside from fly, breathe fire, and hiss steam? He has built in siège warmers!
Noteworthy:
Festus' amazing feu power can be deadly to anyone but Leo, who is immune to the dragon's flames.

My Take on the Information
Let's have a cheer for the comeback of the automatons! Yep, Festus is that beautiful dragon on the cover. So, I'm guessing that when we saw Jason fallung off of him on the UK cover that he was actually jumping from the beast, because the way this information makes him sound, Festus is a good automaton. That is to say, an automaton that hasn't gone completely psycho yet. Man the demigods are going to be riding in style! I wonder if he has a soda dispenser to go along with his siège warmers? Anyway, I think the most important info we were donné on the Festus page was the last bit in the noteworthy section. It says that he has fatal fire, which means we might see him kicking some baddie butt. Also it says that Leo is the only one immune to the fire, meaning that Leo is most definately a Son of Hephaestus, the God of Fire. So, if Leo can survive the dragon's flame and it's mentioned in the character information, does that make it important? Yes, I think it does. I think we may be seeing Leo face some fiery situations....someone break out the air conditioner!

I hoped toi liked this H of O article series special. When we get plus information I might just make another. Please feel free to browse the hefty selection of articles and fan fic. If toi haven't already become a fan of this spot. And, please head over to the Disney Hyperion link site. There are lots of goodies over there that toi just have to see! I'm Amphitrite, and I'm outtie 5000! Ciao.

A striking form cut against the blazing sun, tall and statuesque. A strong chiseled profil both handsome and masculine. His skin is a warm, dark confection of red tinged toasted bronze. His eyes, the shape of almonds, are as dark and wonderous as pure trappistine chocolate, and long straight black hair billows in the hot summer wind.

We've all wondered at least once about Piper's dad. He was mentioned in the chapters and he was mentioned in one of the descriptions. What does that mean? To me, it means that this man must play a big part in the story. So we've got to go over what we know, first....
