Hey, everyone! Most of toi who have been here for over...two months, I'd say, remember how crazy the fanfiction situation can get. After a new book comes out, people get excited and start écriture their new fanfic. Which is wonderful. Really, it's great. Unfortunately, it leaves this club, one for discussion and socializing, a big jumbled up blur of a bunch of new fanfictions.
I realize it's probably not my place to be écriture this as I've only been fanpopping since June, but I've been following this club (not in the stalkerish way XD) since October of last year. So I know how much the fanfic situation exploded.
Okay, enough with my ramblings, on to the point.
If you're bothering to read this article and are posting/working on a new fanfiction, please please just do at least one of the following:
1. READ AMPH'S RULES.
They're rules posté par Amphitrite and reposted par weirdo2 about how to set up your fanfic. Some aspects of it include: how to head it up, making sure it's posté in a forum, not a series of articles, making sure that it's your best écriture with good grammar and punctuation. They're so so helpful and really do make your fanfic plus polished.
2. rejoindre PAULION'S SPOT.
Paulion recently made a spot called The Fanfic. It's a spot where toi can write, post, share, and read your and other people's fanfics. Now, I know most of toi are worried that no one will read it if toi post it there, but the spot was formed a few days il y a and already has 32 fans. It may not seem like much, but if toi start posting your fanfic there and advertising it on this spot, your readers will rejoindre and their readers will rejoindre and so on and so forth.
Not everyone has to post their fanfic there but I've seen some of the elder members talking about what to do with all the new Mark of Athena fanfictions sure to come after the release of the Son of Neptune. Even before the code of no spoilers has been lifted, we already have a ton of new fanfics.
So if toi have a fanfic toi started posting after October 4th, I strongly recommend toi read the rules and déplacer it over to the new fanfiction spot.
I'm nearly done, I swear, I just have one plus thing to add: before starting to post your fanfic, think carefully if you're ready to do it. Are toi ready to keep up a posting schedule? Have toi researched enough? Do toi already have long-term ideas for much later in the story planned out? Do toi know in which direction the story's going?
If not...maybe think about the réponses to some of these questions, scrawl them down, and write a beautiful new fanfiction.
