Here is a quote from the Lightning Thief in the beginning of chapter 20, "I Battle My Jerk Relative". The quote is in the background info. Can someone please tell me what it means?

"I Battle my Jerk Relative"

means that Percy battles Ares, who is Percy's relative and he's a jerk.

"A strategy worth of Athena."

This means that whoever was the mastermind behind Ares, encouraging him to keep the bolt until a war starts, had a strategy that was so good that Athena, the goddess of wisdom, could have acknowledged it.

"You get it, don't you?"
"yeah,I get it."

It showed that Annabeth understood that it was a well thought-out plan and Percy didn't mean to insult her mother, Athena. Annabeth doesn't feel guilty, she just understands.

It was because someone ( secretly Luke ) influenced Ares, without Ares knowing it, to hide the Helm of Darkness and Zues's Master Bolt in Percy's backpack...

The Relative is Ares His Cousin and he fights with him verbally

Ok... i battle my jerk relative is refering to Percy battleing Ares, who is technicly his cousin/relavitve... ares is a jerk so yeah

The confersasion is when Percy and Annabeth figure out the plan which is so complicated and smart... it's good enough for Athena to come up with

What I understood is that Percy and Annabeth are recalling their précédant conversation about Ares, whom Annabeth described as having strength but no wisdom (this is mentioned again a few paragraphs later, during Percy’s fight with Ares). So, although they realize it was a trick, they also realize that it was too well-thought-out a trick for Ares to have designed, and therefore Ares is not in fact leading the effort to create the war and kill Percy, but rather someone else, who is a lot smarter.
