Relatively late in the evolutionary history of miacids came the appearance of the first canid (Cynodictis), one of these was called the dawn-wolf, this creature had a long body and looked like a enlongated fox, it could live and climb in trees, it was also thought to possibly related to feline species. Some authorities believe that canids originated in North America and then spread to Asia and South America, while others ascribe that a small type of loup crossed into siberia from alaska, where it eventually developed into the larger, present-day grey wolf. The grey loup then migrated to North...

In a normal den, the birthing chamber lies at the end of a tunnel that may be up to 15 feet long in soft soil. The tanière, den is often slightly elevated above the rest of the tunnel, and no den-lining material is used. The mother keeps the tanière, den clean par eating fecal mater of her pups. The birthing chamber is usually about three feet in diameter and about two feet high.

Shortly before giving birth, a pregnant female will seek out a den. Dens may be a deep riverbank hollow, a cleft between rocks, a hollow log, a l’espace under an upturned arbre ou a l’espace under a rock overhang. Sometimes loups will use abandoned...

The alpha pair has the greatest amount of social freedom among all the pack members, but they are not "leaders" in the human sense of the term. The alphas do not give the other loups orders; rather, they simply have the most freedom in choosing where to go, what to do, and when to do it. The rest of the pack usually follows. There are various subordinates, who dominate the omega. The omega is the lowest. It is the baby-sitter and usually plus chiot than wolf.

In larger packs, there may be also be a beta loup ou loups - a "second-in-command" to the alphas. In addition, one loup typically assumes...

loup Injuries

Wolves can get injuries from large prey animaux that defend themselves, when the pack attacks a large moose ou bison they can receive injuries from kicks and if the prey had antlers ou horns it can cause a lot of damage. loups can be trampled under the hooves, Artist George Catlin reported an 1844 attack on a buffalo par a pack of loups in which two of the loups had been crushed to death under the hooves of the animal.

Man also causes injuries to wolves, leg-hold traps, illegal hunting, loups being hit par cars (rare), poisoning (one loup was known to die from drinking from a...

loups will also eat herbe to purge their digestive system when they have eaten something that does not agree with them. nourriture sources may differ and change depending on the season and geographical area, when large prey animaux are scarce loups will prey on mice, Rabbits and squirrels, these smaller prey do not provide a substantial part of the wolf's diet but supplement it when larger prey are scarce.

Beavers play an important roll as an alternative nourriture source in the summer months, in some areas 60% of the wolf's diet is beaver.

One of the most odd part of the diet of loups is fish! Biologist Bod Bromley once observed a loup in Canada's Northwest Territories catch five poisson in fifteen minutes in the Talston River.

loups will also scavenge, In one study of moose carcasses in Algonquin Park, of 30 moose only 4 were killed par wolves, the rest died of natural causes.

loups will also eat wild berries and other fruit as a minor part of their diet.
When Fara opened her eyes, the first thing she noticed was not the blaring traffic outside, but rather the lack of it. In its place were the sounds she was used to- birdsong, whispering leaves and, most wonderful of all, the Cry. It seemed so close, so tantalizingly near, that Fara ran at the cage mur in frustration. But instead of feeling the cold bars slam into her body, she found herself falling through swirling color and light.

Her paws touched the ground again, but this time, the rough concrete concrete had gone, replaced par smooth rock, carved par wind, rain, ice and time. To her surprise,...
