Opportunity of a Lifetime
Chapter 1

My name is Loryn and I am from the states. I won the Solar Blue contest. I get to spend an entire an on the or Coast and train and surf everyday! Ekkkk!! I'm so excited!! Solar Blue usually only pick the ones that have one their contest in Australia but I sent in a tape saying why I wanted to get in, what it would mean and a video montrer my surfing skills. I know I'm not that good but I really want to get and see how much I can improve.
But here is the draw back. I am going to he away from my family for an entire year! I haven't even been a week without a family member before. I already know that I am going to he really accueil sick. Then there are all of my Friends from school and my swim buddies! I l’amour them all, specially my swimming buddies! They are like my family! I spend 4 days out of the week with them for 3 hours each day! I live in the water. With this opportunity I get a chance to grow up, learn new skills and become better on two of the best things; Surfing and Cooking! I'm not that great of a cook but how the past years livid in the house everyone shares duties! So that means cooking and cleaning! I know it's going to be hard because I'm not really a morning person! I plus of a night owl and an afternoon person ( that's when I usually wake up).
But no plus looming at the negative things! I am going to look on all of the positives. Starting now! But I just thought there is another person that I am going to miss plus than anyone! My best friend Luke. He has always been there for me and now we are going to have to video chat! And like Australia is like on a different time than Florida is. ( I am not good with these kind of thugs to tell toi the truth!) but back on the positive things! I leave bright and early in the morning. I leave approximately at 3:30 am! That will be 5 hours from now. I have to leave the house at 1:30 just to get to the airport and get checked in. Is going to be a pain! I am so worried that my boards are going to get Lost ou broken! I am lucky though because I only have to board two different planes! The first plane I get on is the one in Atlanta, Georgia and the seconde is L.A.X. Here is the beginning of one of the best opportunities of a lifetime!

When I get to Solar Blue, I will be the only American there. There I will share a room with another girl that I've never met before. All in all there will 3 other girls and 4 guys. I'm kinda nervous. Wonder if no one likes me. I hope I make a good first impression to everyone! Well I better finish my last minute packing and putting pieces of foam under and on haut, retour au début of my boards in their bag. Write later, I promise!

When I woke up it was so early that the sun hadn't come up yet. I waited a whole week with out figuring out it wasn’t the flew, because I hadn’t got one text from him ou anything. It was the weekend and I was bored so I ask Jacob if he would drive me to Cody’s house he a dit yeah. The suivant morning was school and as usual I got up showered which is very hard with a broken knee par the way. I put on some shorts cause none of my pants would go over my cast and then I put on a sweat shirt. Max cam and got me to take me to school. We talked the whole way there.

I remembered that Edward could read minds so as I was running I was screaming Edward! Help! Soon I was in so much I couldn't stand running anymore so I slowed down as I was still screaming at Edward. Later that evening one of there sons and daughters dropped par my room to meet me. They introduce themselves as Jasper Hale and Alice Cullen. They were so cute they held hands I quickly new that the loved each other and I didn't think that was weird cause they weren't related.

When I got to the hospital I gave them all of my information but I didn't tell them that I was in the coast guard cause I new that they
would call Senior Chief and tell him that I'm in the hospital and that would lead to being kicked out. So I got x-rays and they told me nothing serious happened that it was just cracked so they could bandage my ribs up tight to keep it from hurting as bad.

As the weeks went on one Sergeant didn't like me I could tell he was always making me work harder. His name was Sergeant Ray. He was weird.
