i agree iwth SG1-090 on this...but i think he showed his love more 2 sam than he did 2 dean..he treated dean like crap while he cared enough about sam 2 make sure he was ok..and as odd as it sounds cared enough 2 fight with him....i believe he loved both his boys but i made my choice on who he showed his love 2 the most

I agree I think that he loved both boys the same.
Dean was more of John's soldier in training. Dean did what he was told and obayed John, which was what John needed. Sam was more indendant and John admired that. There are differnet qualities in the differnet boys that John loves equally. (rant over lol)

Neither. He was just terrified for Sam, knowing what would happen to him, and he knew Dean was the loyal hunter that would protect the family. He loved them both the same.
