Daphne had barely settled herself in her hospital bed, when the phone rang.
“Hello?” she said, when she picked up.
“Daphne, how are you?” Zoey asked.
“I’m fine, considering” Daphne a dit bitter.
“I’m so sorry. I should’ve never taken Emmanuel to that lake” Zoey said. “What are toi going to do now?”
Daphne sighed. “What can I do?”
“Oh, gee, I don’t know, divorce him? Call the police?” Zoey a dit sarcastic.
“No, I don’t want to do that” Daphne a dit hesitating. “He just Lost his self-control. Happens to me all the time”
“Daphne, sweetie, he could’ve killed you” Zoey a dit sharp. “You have to let him feel he can’t just do that and get away with it”

“Call the police, tell them everything that happened and let them come to the hospital. I’ll take care of the rest”
