I know this is super late, but I just had to say what an amazing episode 4x07 was.
DEx wasn't the best thing I know... But Stelena is looking plus and plus like endgame to me after each episode. We learned that Elena is sired so none of her actions were really "Elena's". I strongly believe that when they break the sire bond (which I'm sure they will) that Elena will return to Stefan.
