You have the whole pulled from Heaven, conflict of emotions and isolation on the Buffy front and then you have Spike who wants her so much but can't get his arms around her the way he wants to.

I agree with you Arabella, when Buffy was back she was in so much pain and so has Spike. Spike was suffering with Buffy. With the addictive relationship the two of them had never felt that pain before in there life.

Overall, Buffy was suffering her addiction and Spike well I have to say he kinda enjoyed.Cuz Buffy with him and he felt that she really likes him.But Buffy was trying to get rid that addiction so much that it was killing her.
