I know they're supposed to be enemies, but is there anyone else here who's bummed about the loss of Clark and Lex's strong friendship?????

I agree with toi completely!! Their deep friendship was what made me watch all the time and what also carried the show!!! When the writers destoryed that in season 5 par using Lana and other elements, I kinda stopped watching!!! And as the seasons went on Lex got darker as Clark's resentment pushed him away, i hated that!!! I think in the end though, and they'll never admit it, Lex and Clark still loved each other as brothers, even through they were at opposite ends of the stick!! I guess that's one of the biggest tragities in the series for me!! I wanted Clark to pull Lex out of the darkness, even though he gave up on himself, i think Clark gave up on Lex soooo easily!!!

I soooooo agree with totally! But the writers a dit they wanted to try and stay with the story from the comics. I don't know the comics so I don't know if Smallvilee is just really weird now ou keeping with the comic story.

i totally agree with all of toi i loved their friendship even though i knew they were destined to be enemies they made very good Friends thats one of the best part of the earlier days in Smallville

I know no matter what he did wrong I could never hate him, I found myself always on his side!!! Because of Smallville lex is one of my favori characters, I know he's meant to become the bad guy but I just can't hate him!!! Every season and episode I kept hoping Clark would try to save lex's soul, but he never did making me resent him...until finally just plain angry at him!!!

I totally disagree!!!:( Lex and Clark's friendship was special and it was strong up until things occurred in season 5, thanks in large part to thoes damn writers!!! It was the reason I kept watching the show, seeing this now judgmental Clark is soooooooooooooo annoying, I don't see how it was for the best!!!
