Actually, you're not "supposed" to do anything. It's generally accepted that toi can have all the hair down there toi want until toi start being sexually active (because there's no reason to go to the bother of making something pretty until toi know someone will be able to see it), and after that point toi can ask your partner if they find toi plus attractive with ou without the hair, because everyone has a different opinion. Even then, it's your body, and toi have the final word.

That being said, I think it's considered trendy in the United States right now to shave it off (no idea about other countries). Note the word "trend", what's populaire now might not be in a few years.
