I think it's hard to say. Minerva McGonagall was just as reserved with her emotions as he was. I personally don't draw any conclusions, though I think it might be closer to the truth to say she neither liked nor disliked him.

^I agree. I think she respected him, and I think she trusted Dumbledore's judgement of him. But neither of those things really equate to "like."

Difficult to say. She respected him as a powerful wizard, a competent colleague and a reputed scholar in his field. She must have appreciated him when he was a student as he was a brilliant back then. She was not indifferent to students in general either and she must have noticed that young Severus was not happy at home and had a big crush on Lily.

However, she must have been disappointed by and angry after him after he had "killed" Dumbledore.

Yet, I'd like to think that once everything had been cleared up after the war, thanks to Harry, she had understood - like Harry had, after all - how brave he was, how loyal to Dumbledore he had been.

I hope she changed her mind about him. C'mon, Minerva !

^ I agree with LadyNottingham she respected him as a colleague until he killed Dumbledore then she hated him, but changed her mind when she knew the truth.

I always believed that Minerva was one of the teachers when Severus Snape was in school in the Maurader Era. If so, she would have known him from when he was achild. There's so much you can learn about a child from watching how they do their work, how they act around others. She would have see the heart of him, at that time.

She also was a co-worker, and they were both Order members together. She always trusted him. I think the only thing that broke her, was that last moment, when Harry confronted him in the Hall.

I've always hoped that afterward, she learned the truth and was able to find peace with her memories of him and know that he did not truly betray their friendship.
