I chose Beastboy because Raven and Robin are too much alike! It would be like dating yourself. Besides, Beastboy clearly likes Raven, he is always trying to make her laugh!

I love both couples. Each coupling has its special qualities. I am bias towards Robin and Raven. I love the bond that they share. However, I do love Raven and Beast Boy's awkward, yet thoughtful relationship.

Although Robin and Raven have a special and unique bond, in my opinion, Beast Boy and Raven have an even stronger relationship. For example, the two are always at each other's throats, yet when they forgive each other, they always come out stronger. In addition to that, Beast Boy is constantly being seen doing something sneaky (arm over Raven's shoulder) or subconsciously that involves his one true love: Raven. Plus, I just think they match. ~shrugs~

Okay, listen.
BB and Raven are in no way, shape, or form a couple. It's pure crack. 'Opposites Attact' is true also in SOME cases and it's very rare. In BBRae's case it's completely untrue. Their relationship never goes ANYWHERE(BB doesn't understand Raven-->They quarrel-->Raven gets mad-->BB apologises after hours--> Raven accepts his apology half-heartedly-->repeat), and also, Raven herself said she disliked/hated BB for quite a while, and knowing her character there are probably some scars left from her hate. I think the only reason BB is so interested in her is that she's a challenge to understand, and BB loves risks/challenges. Oh, and also, for opposites to 'attract' they MUST have enough common ground to make it, BBRae has 0 ground so there.
To all who say that Robin and Raven are too similiar: 'Dating yourself'? They aren't that much alike. And let's not forget that that's what makes a couple good. Robin is also the only one out of the team that understands Raven, and Raven said and proved that she falls in love with people who unstand her, are kind to her and are similiar to her in 'Spellbound'. Also, Robin sees Raven as a sort of insparation and blah blah blah, these links show my opinion perfectly, please read them to understand what I think:

Pro-RobRae:

Other quotes:
"I think Robin and Starfire are cute, but that's it. It's a "safe," predictable couple. I don't think that a guy and girl should date just because they're close. I support Robin and Raven b/c they are so similar(but not in an annoying, molded speciffically for eachother way) and have a special bond. I'd like just a romantic Raven/Robin arc, but they mutually agree it's a bad idea and don't pursue the relationship. I prefer the show with no boyfriend/girlfriend and just little romantic moments."
"Rob/Star wasn't evil. it had its time and place and was only natural. Star's the kind of person Robin would be immediately drawn to: she caters to his desire to be helpful, and admit it, she's pretty. And it -did- happen.

Robin and Raven, however, share a level of trust and intimacy that Rob/Star didn't have the capacity for. It grew as -they- did, as they learned their own hearts and minds, and each others'. Subtle on the surface, unshakable at the core. They're bonded. Literally, soul mates."
"A:It might interest you to know that Rob/Rae IS, technically, canon. A long while ago in the comics, Raven encountered Dick (now Nightwing) in his sleep (dreams), and it went like so:

Raven: I've waited so long for this.

Dick: Not as long as I've waited for you, Raven. In my thoughts, in my dreams, in my prayers...I've wanted to touch you so much that it hurt. I've wanted to hold you, caress you, kiss you. I've wanted so much to be a part of you. My god, Raven -- I think I love you.

B:Oh yeah I have those scans. It's great. It would have been so much better if they let Dick & Raven actually get together and STAY together.

A:It sure as heck beats Dick/Kory. That Dick/Rae story infuriated me too, on account of Starfire's award-winning insensitivity and stupidity about the whole thing. In ONE issue, Kory encourages Dick to 'act on his feelings' and sleep with Rae; then takes it back and says she'd rather talk to her instead; basically tells Rae, 'Sorry honey, he's mine. He'll never love you anyway'; and then, after ALL that, Starfire convinces Raven to go back and kiss Dick for a 'joke.'So, in ONE ISSUE, Star contradicts herself like I never thought was possible even for her. Not only that, but HOW insensitive/moronic does a girl have to be to tell another woman to 'keep off my man, but hey! It would be totally hilarious if you freaked him out by making out with him!' And does she stop to think of how this would affect Dick, too? Good, Kory. Frustrate your own boyfriend by sending the woman he's trying desperately to resist, for YOUR sake, over to tease him.

B:I would have loved for Raven to tell Kory to shove it, and to keep trying to make Dick hers. He would have been better off with Raven anyway. And Kory deserves to pay for being such a insensitive, manipulative, inconsiderate, deceitful, witch. Trying to convince Raven she didn't love Dick. Like it's her place to dictate what others feel. A good pimp slap is in order for that girl. Be it comic Starfire or cartoon Starfire, she's no good either way.

A:Starfire is a canon Mary-Sue. Think about it: if someone created that thing in a fanfiction, people would be ALL OVER her for being a Mary-Sue. As just ONE random example, in the comics, Kory was CONSTANTLY getting the spotlight when it made NO SENSE for her to be the centre of attention. The plot would literally take a time out just to drool over Kory for a while, and to have pretty illustrations of her and poetic drivel about how 'gorgeous' she is.

B:Starfire is always overestimated. And I honestly don't see how she could have been considered so incredibly gorgeous. Raven was every bit as attractive in the comic, except maybe her chest wasn't as big. Big deal. I guess it's because Raven actually wore clothes. Hell even Komand'r had the decency to cover up so why didn't Kory? But I don't want to go off topic here. Starfire IS a mary-sue, seemingly perfect, yet completely irritating and uninteresting.

A:Star is the incarnation of, 'Who needs a personality when you're gorgeous?' And yes, Raven was just as, if not more, exotic than Star. When it comes to who Dick should end up with, my vote goes to either Barbara Gordon or Raven. Both have far more going for them, and both know Dick on a much more REAL level than Kory has. Ever. They know his joys, his fears, his soul; they encourage him to be Dick Grayson, not Robin/Nightwing.Dick and Kory were infatuated with each other, never truly in love. Kory especially was constantly trying to change Dick into who SHE wanted him to be. From the moment they became an item, she was always trying to mould him into her idea of the perfect mate; she basically laughed at his morals and convictions, scolded him for being introverted, and bawled like a baby when he wouldn't tell her his every precious secret/feeling. She never gave him any space.
Definitely Dick/Raven or Dick/Barbara. Starfire is just not suited for him. I don't think she'd be truly good for anyone unless she changed some major aspects of her personality. Bur for someone like her it's basically impossible. Especially when others act like she's perfect, and make her believe she is. As far as I know though, in the comic world Dick and Barbara are together now? I have no idea, there's like so many different comics and storylines.

A:If Dick/Babs has become official again, I've missed it. I haven't kept up with the comics in a few months. Last I knew, Dick and Barbara were basically okay with each other -- romantic tension was very obviously there, but nothing was officially declared. Speaking of comic romances though, have you heard about the horror that is BB/Rae in TT? Last issue I read where those two were a romantic focus, it was like a bad fanfiction. I almost couldn't stomach Garfield's character...

B:Well as long as he's not with Kory. Infact they'd just do better to kill off her character entirely. What purpose does she really serve? She is easily replaceable. As for BB/Rae, yes unfortunately I've heard of this outrage. They're "like soo canon lol!!1" Another pairing that makes next to no sense at all. But that's TT for you.

A:I've been saying that for years. Star's character is pointless; she serves no purpose; she doesn't hold the DCU together in any way. If she's killed off, there's always Power Girl or someone to replace her. And, don't get me started on Gar/Rae. Sure, I like opposites attract, but opposites can also repel. I like Wally/Rae (in addition to Dick/Rae) based on the whole opposites attract dynamic, because Wally is sweet, funny, and outgoing -- but, unlike Gar, he's not OBNOXIOUS.

B:I'd love it if Blackfire would replace her. I actually enjoy Blackfire as a villain. But if she had to turn hero to replace Starfire, it would work just as well. I like Wally/Rae too. The two of them together is cute. I've not much one for opposites attract, but it's like you said. At least Wally isn't obnoxious. Raven can tolerate him without wanting to fling him into the ocean to drown. Gar can be a good friend to her but that's where it ends.

A:If anything, Blackfire would have a lot more of a background and personality to offer. She seems to be one of the few Tamaranians who actually possesses common sense. She's evil, but wouldn't you be if your entire planet hated you simply because you were born at a bad time and couldn't fly, while your little sister got spoiled and coddled every second? And yeah, I'm quite the fan of Wally/Rae. I know they'll NEVER be an item again, but by golly, I don't care. I ship old school!

B:Blackfire has every right to be evil, to betray her people and to hate Starfire. She's completely justified. Starfire got all the love and respect Blackfire had to suffer without. As unjust as that is. True that Wally/Rae will more than likely never happen again...but to hell with the writers. They obviously don't know their own characters as well as they should. We can ship whatever we want, and know that our pairings make some SENSE.

A:Indeed. Just because it's canon, that does NOT mean it's automatically good. This is coming from someone who used to ship Rob/Star and Gar/Rae, so I've read/explored what they have to offer. In the end, it all runs dry. They're the sort of couples that, when they DO become an item, fall into, 'So, we're finally together. Now what?' But Dick/Rae, Dick/Babs, or Wally/Rae: those are the sorts of pairings that, LONG after being official, still continue to learn, and support each other.

B:Good way to put it. Rob/Star and BB/Rae is so...boring. I see awkwardness and misunderstandings in their future. What else can they provide for one another? At the end of things, Robin cannot and will not ever trust Starfire enough for their relationship to have any meaning at all. Gar just doesn't understand Raven, even if he might try. Dick & Raven don't need someone to bring "light" into their lives. They need someone who can understand / help cope with their darkness.

A:Rob/Rae just feels so much more believable and strong. Sure, Rob/Star and BB/Rae CAN be 'cute,' but I'm reminded of a passage from Pride and Prejudice: 'But how little of permanent happiness could belong to a couple who were only brought together because their passions were stronger than their virtue...' <-- I think that's Rob/Star in a nutshell. Robin and Raven, on the other hand, truly respect each other and have a deep bond -- they're not consumed by shallow infatuation.

B:Yeah that describes them quite well. And unfortunately Rob/Star isn't the only other canon relationship like that. Robin and Raven could be so good for each other if they would let themselves. They need to break free from Star and BB. It sucks that the writers will never go for that. But it would be so much more interesting, to see Robin and Raven realize that what they share with each other is much deeper and meaningful to them, than what they share with Star and BB.

A:Well, fortunately, Dick *has* broken away from Starfire. 'Twas actually quite some time ago, but to summarise, Kory was being clingy/needy again, and asked Dick if he loved her 'in the way that is forever. Where we never have to make excuses.' And he said, very plainly and without hesitation, 'No.' Of course, Kory went psycho over it and had to see a therapist...But it was good to finally see Dick put his foot down with her. And, as far as I know, he hasn't taken those words back.

B:I'm happy he has. And I hope he never has to deal with her again. Now all that's left is for Raven too break free of BB. It's too bad that cartoon Rob/Star had to end so wrongly, after Trouble in Tokyo.

A:Trouble in Tokyo was a travesty. Not just because of the Rob/Star-ness in it, but because it was otherwise nothing more than an animated, brightly-coloured, fanboy mass of Super-D and anime references. The villain (Brushogun) had potential to be formidable/interesting, but he got side-lined by the Japanese police commissioner -- I swear it was like an hour and a half long Scooby Doo episode. 'It wasn't really the monster! It was the COMMISSIONER!' 'Jinkies!'

B:I haven't bothered to watch the whole thing. But even so, I know that the Rob/Star melodrama took focus. I think they intended to make it so 'all important' that it downplayed the villains, the crimes and the team itself. Might as well have called it "Robin and Starfire in Tokyo".

A:You more or less hit the nail on the head. Three-fourths of the movie was about Rob/Star, and the rest of it was about Japanese pop-culture and anime references. The villain (if he could be called a villain) had little to no importance on the plot. He was just there as an excuse to put in some fighting action when Robin and Starfire weren't goofing off, almost-kissing, or displaying poorly-written 'romantic tension.'

B:At the very least, they could have used this movie as an excuse to bring back Blackfire. We barely saw any of her on the series. And it would have made more sense to focus so much on Robin and Starfire. But either way, I think too much RobStar would destroy the team. Realistically speaking, if Robin didn't end things with Star first, it would most likely lead to the team disbanding. He can't be a proper leader to all, if he has to give all his attention to ONE teammate.

C:You're right. One reason I like the RobRae pairing so much is that Raven can take care of herself, and Robin knows that, so he wouldn't have to be focusing on her and making sure she's okay all the time, like he has to do with Starfire (who, to be perfectly frank - despite her amazing and versatile superpowers - isn't the best fighter on the planet). Watching this show the most perfect couple that i ever see is robin and raven. They both make a good couple unlike robstar or bbrae. There relationship is soo sweet that some times that makes me cry. Robin is the only one who better know about raven and similary raven is the only one who know every well about robin. There personalities are soo equal one by one. There names makes the couple even more beautiful coz both have bird names. I dont know why people like bbrae coz i never see a big deal between those two. Bb always make raven mad sometimes and the wrost thing is bb is yonger than raven. its creepy to ship them. I like robstar but robrae is 100% perfect than robstar. Starfire not serious about robin. She only like him coz he is kind and handsome than others but she dont know about his past. But raven do. Raven is the only one thats open her feelings to robin. Secretly they have a love intrest each other but dont realized it. But when they along they share there feelings each other. i always say get out robstar bbrae gooo goooo robrae
