Professor McGonagall sat down behind her desk, frowning at Harry. Then she said: "Have a biscuit,Potter."
"Have - what?"
"Have a biscuit", she repeated impatiently, indicating a tartan tin lying on haut, retour au début of one of the piles of papers on her desk. "And sit down"
There had been a précédant occasion when Harry, expecting to be caned par Professor McGonagall, had instead been appointed par her to the Gryffindor Quidditch team. He sank into a chair opposite her and helped himself to a Ginger Newt, feeling just as confused and wrong-footed as he had done on that occasion.

So here is a recipe for Minerva McGonagalls favourite cookies, Ginger Newts.
250 g flour
½ TL salt
1 TL cinnamon
½ TL clove powder
2 TL ginger powder
3 TL baking powder
90 g vegetable fat
60 g butter
200 g sugar
1 egg
60 ml syrup
1 handful of crystallized ginger
sugar to roll the dough in
preparation:
four at 180°C
Cut the crystallized ginger into small cubes.
Mix flour, baking powder and the spices in one bowl.
Mix butter, vegetable fat and sugar in a seconde bowl and add syrup and egg.
Now add the flour-mixture and a handful of crystallized ginger-cubes to the seconde bowl and make a dough.
Make balls from the dough(ca. 2 cm), roll them in sugar and put them on a baking sheet.
Now bake the biscuits, cookies for 8-10 minutes.
note:
The dough is quite gluey, so I would recommend putting it in the fridge for at least half an heure before forming the balls.
