**•How To Keep Your PS3 Slim In Pristine Condition!•**

1# "NEVER Let Your System Overheat!"
You'll know when it is overheating if it burns to touch it. The 3 main causes of PS3 heating are:
1) Leaving it on for a long period of time. (Especially on hot days)
2) Keeping it on carpet ou an inclosed area.
3) Dust build-up in vents.

Ways to prevent these problems are:

*Keeping the PS3 on either a polished wood, solid plastic ou metal surface to allow decent heat conducting. toi can also have four, equally high objects placed under each corner of your Playstation so it has room to allow air-flow. Some of my favourite things to use are Glen 20 disinfectant can lids & children's building blocks. toi can use ANY materials except:
•Styrofoam/foam
•Regular Plastic
•Paper
•Splintered Wood
#NOTE#
Even though toi can't use "regular plastic," toi can still use "solid plastic" as it conducts heat a lot better. (Glen 20 can lids)

*Now for the dust. To make sure there is no dust build up in your system, unplug it and carefully turn it upside-down and you'll see small vent holes all the way around the edges of the Slim. toi will also see one big strip of vents on the back near where the cables go.

If toi look closely, toi may see dust clogging them. To effectively remove it, get a dry cloth and gently wipe the surface of the dust to loosen it. After that toi can either use a vacuum (on low suction) ou just blow gently towards the vents to get rid of the dust. (Make sure toi DO NOT have the vacuum on HIGH suction. It may DAMAGE COMPONENTS inside the system!) Also be careful if your going to "blow into the vents" because saliva may get inside and/or dust.

2# "Backup Your System Regularly!"
If your system unexpectedly fails, crashes and corrupts, all of your precious save files will be gone from games that toi may have spent HUNDREDS of hours playing! (*cough* Skyrim *cough*) However, if toi backup your PS3 regularly, this shouldn't be a problem!

There a three methods of backing up/copying content.
1) Copy "non-copy-protected" save files to USB.
2) Copy ALL save files to Playstation Plus. #NOTE# toi will need to pay at least $10-20 for a three mois subscription. It is, however cheaper than buying a larger USB ou External HDD.
3) Performing a "Full Backup" of the system to either a large enough USB ou External HDD.
#NOTE# If you're using an External-HDD, it MUST be formatted to FAT32 ou the PS3 will not recongnise it.

3# "Saving Hard-Drive l’espace On Your Console."
If you've noticed things slowing down, toi may not have a lot of l’espace on your system HDD for your console to work and function properly. #NOTE# This may be plus of an issue on a Playstation with a "smaller hard-drive." If toi follow the steps below, toi should be fine!

To Check how many GBs toi have left on your console. Go to "Settings," "System Setting" & then open "System Information." It will montrer toi how many GBs toi have used and how much l’espace toi have left. e.g: 233/320GB. The number on the left will montrer how many GBs toi have left. If toi don't have much, scroll across the XMB to "Game Data Utility" and supprimer any game's data that toi aren't playing anymore/lately. Don't worry, Game data is only "install data," when toi decide to play the game again toi will just have to install again and your saves will not be affected. If toi also want to copy & supprimer game saves, scroll down from "Game Data Utility" and select "Save Data Utility." If toi have important saves, don't worry about them. Saves take up hardly any l’espace compared to "Game Data." If toi want to free-up as much l’espace as possible, toi can plug a USB into the PS3 and copy "non-copy-protected" saves to your thumb drive. That way toi can supprimer them off of toi system and just copy them back from the USB when toi want to play them again. #NOTE# toi can copy some "Game Data Utility" as well as "Save Data Utility" if toi want to do both. If toi send/receive a lot of messages from other players, scroll over to "Mesages," "Recieved Messages," press triangle and "delete messages." Do the same for "Sent Messages." This should free-up some KBs ou even MBs if toi use Messages often.

toi should have enough hard-drive l’espace for toi PS3 to work smoothly again!
