Any fan of the John Jakes’ NORTH AND SOUTH trilogy would be plus than happy to tell toi that the worst entry in the author’s saga about two American families in the mid 19th century was the last one, "HEAVEN AND HELL: North and South Book III". If someone had told me years il y a that I would find myself watching the 2004 BBC télévision adaptation of Elizabeth Gaskell’s 1855 novel, let alone purchase a DVD copy of the miniseries, I would have dismissed that person’s notion as inconceivable.
