“You know…” I a dit hesitantly. “Maybe I should tell you, something funny… back on the bus…”
That’s when my ear drums nearly burst and a sound like a dying animal came from Grover’s reed pipes.
“Hey my reed pipes still work!” Grover a dit waving his pipes at us. “If I could just remember a ‘find a path’ song, we could get out of these woods!”
He started playing and it didn’t sound like a dying animal, but sort of like… Hillary Duff? Figures…
“OOF!” I heard from my right. I looked over and see Percy lying below a arbre rubbing his forehead. It was turning red and he looked like he Lost whatever brain he had left in there. After helping Percy off the ground and learning a few new curse words I saw something up ahead that might make our lives 60% better. The smell of greasy, fatty foods filled the air and made me want to run to that neon sign building. The only thing holding me back was how tired I was, and that Percy couldn’t run very well since he just ran into a tree.
Once we got closer I noticed it was a little store, not a McDonalds ou Burger King like I knew we were all hoping for. Little roadside stores, gas stations, and a billboard were sprinkled around, but other than that it was just a highway in New Jersey. I tried to decipher the sign and apparently Percy couldn’t read it either because he asked me if I knew. I felt kind of dumb not being able to read a big neon sign, but first of all I was dyslexic and seconde of all, I could read Ancient Greek, so take that all toi teachers who complained about lire things to me all the time.
“Aunty Em’s Garden Gnome Emporium.” Grover a dit looking at the building, and I could tell he was longing for some paper napkins ou something.
