Leila, Greeley, Leila's aunt and uncle, and Paul got up the suivant morning. After breakfast, they prepared to go to the beach. chiens were allowed on the plage as long as they were on a leash. Even though Leila knew that she could trust Paul off his leash, she wasn't about to get in trouble. She had enough of that in school. The sad thing is she always got in trouble for something she didn't do. She was the scapegoat, if toi will, but that's a story for another time. As Leila and Greeley were playing in the ocean with Paul, a child a dit to Leila, "Excuse me, may I pet your dog?" She said, "Yes, toi may." The child allowed Paul to smell his hand. Paul was happy about getting petted. The child asked, "What kind of dog is he?" Leila said, "You're not going to believe me, but he's a German Shepherd." The child said, "I believe you. I had a dog like that when I was little." She said, "Really?" He said, "Yeah. Her name was Indigo. She was a good dog. She passed away in March. She was just a few days shy of thirteen." Leila said, "I'm so sorry for your loss." He said, "It's okay. She went very peacefully." Leila said, "I'm sure it doesn't make it any easier, though. I never Lost a pet, but I would be crushed if I Lost Paul." Later, when Leila was relaxing with Paul, a woman walked by, pointed at Paul and said, "Blue German Shepherd, right?" Leila said, "That's right." A few hours later, Leila, Greeley, Leila's aunt and uncle, and Paul went back to the plage house. Leila and Greeley soon found Paul napping in one of the bedrooms. Greeley said, "I suppose it's exhausting to attract so much attention." Leila said, "It is. I think Paul has the right idea." She went to take a nap as well.
