What a Way to Spend Christmas
It was Christmas Day. It had snowed, and the ground was covered in snow. After Christmas dinner, John decided to take his dog for a walk. Along the way, he encountered Pastor Thomas. John knew that Pastor Thomas saw him and politely said, "Hello." Pastor Thomas said, "Hello, John." John continued walking. Pastor Thomas asked, "What are toi doing par yourself at this hour? Aren't toi afraid someone will try to punish toi for your sin?" John said, "No." Pastor Thomas said, "Well, toi should be afraid, very afraid." John looked confused. Pastor Thomas reached in his pocket and took out a knife. John asked, "What are toi doing?" Pastor Thomas said, "Something I should have done a long time ago." John said, "If you're a man of God like toi claim to be, toi wouldn't do such a thing." Pastor Thomas ignored him and prepared to stab him. John said, "I'm sorry. I won't defy toi again. I'll keep my mouth shut." His apology fell on deaf ears. He felt someone pull him away, but not before Pastor Thomas slashed the left side of his face. John screamed in pain. He then looked behind him, but saw nothing. His dog, Beatle, showed his protective side and attacked Pastor Thomas. John found an opportunity to run. He ran into the forest and hid. Later, he heard footsteps approaching him. His loyal dog had found him. John said, "Oh, Beatle, it's just you." Unfortunately, all was not well. Beatle had been stabbed, and he was mortally wounded. John held his dying dog in his arms. He cried. The Labrador died. John said, "Beatle, this is my fault. It should be me lying there dead, not you." He took his dog's lifeless body back accueil and buried him in the backyard. His uncle, Bob, helped him. When they got in the house, Uncle Bob said, "You're wounded. Let's get this cleaned up." The wound was cleaned, and John asked, "Can I stay with you, Uncle Bob?" Uncle Bob said, "If your mother doesn't mind, sure." She agreed. John packed up his clothing, extensive record collection, and his guitar. Then, he moved to California with Uncle Bob.
