Tonight we were all going out. There was a party one of the other football players, Josh, was throwing and he had invited all of the Senior class. After we had all woken up at Andi’s and eaten our three boxes for cereal, we all went accueil to get ready. Harry and Andi were going shopping before because Andi wanted a new dress. Sometimes he doesn’t realize how lucky he is. I run the towel through my buzzed head twice then emballage, wrap it around my waist. This was one of the perks to being a guy. It only takes us 15 minutes to get ready. 20 on a slow day. Except for Zayn. He takes forever.
I put on a pair of dark distressed jeans (Andi picked them out), a gray, long-sleeve. Andi picked it out. But my Batman Converse I picked out. Andi just got them for me for Christmas to go with my Batman snapback.
About that party tonight. We were going to be singing. Josh had volunteered to play drums and a friend of his, Sandy, plays guitar. So over the course of the week we had all gotten together and written a few songs to sing tonight. I was pumped. Since Modest had gotten a hold of us, they were setting up a time for us to étoile, star recording. Andi didn’t know this. Andi didn’t know anything. We were going to surprise her tonight. I was so ready.
I met the guys in front of the house, giving them all our secret signal with a smile, to which they returned. Andi trailed up behind Harry looking plus like a college student than a high school senior. Her hair, that shines auburn in the sun, was down around her face, and her big brown eyes were lined, making them look doe like. She smiled at me and raised an eyebrow. I looked away and blushed. What was wrong with me?
“You guys ready?” Zayn asked.
We all grabbed a microphone while Andi was preoccupied with a girl friend of hers. I looked over at her and smiled as she threw her head back and laughed. But even though I was smiling, my cœur, coeur was sinking.
“Liam?” Louis snapped his fingers in front of my face.
“Hm.”
He squinted his eyes at me. “You okay?”
“Oh, yeah. I’m good. A little nervous.”
“You’re lying.” He told me and looked in the direction my eyes were trained a few secondes ago. His face softened and he looked back at me. “She loves you, too.”
“What?”
“She just doesn’t know it yet.” He clapped his hand on my shoulder. “Let’s go start a boyband.”
I followed him up on the make-shift stage where the other guys were standing under some spot lights Josh had gotten his hands on.
“Hey, guys!” Louis yelled. “We all should thank Josh for letting us use his house as a club tonight. God knows toi have to be 21 to drink in the US.” He snarled his nose.
“But that’s okay, because here we can sing a few songs for toi guys that we have written lately.” Harry told them, giving them all a ‘thumbs up’.
“So, this first one, is called ‘Kiss You’.”
We had gotten through Kiss toi and cœur, coeur Attack, and the crowed was screaming. It was quite loud for such a small group.
“Alright guys, three plus songs before we get to enjoy the rest of this party.” They all booed.
“This one is called C’mon C’mon. I feel it’s pretty fitting, so here we go.” They all cheered again.
For the fourth song we sang ‘She’s Not Afraid’, but did a plus cœur, coeur felt one for the last one.
“Alright guys. This is the last one. Here we go!”

I had come up with the idea to write this song. They all asked why, but I just told them we wrote a bunch of songs about getting the girl but none about losing her.

After the gig, I went and grabbed a drink then found the guys and Andi. She kissed Harry then pulled away, her eyes sparkling as she spoke to him. He smiled, spoke back, then kissed her again. I felt a pinch on my arm and looked over to find Louis taking a drink from his cup with a raised eyebrow. I nodded my head in thanks and took a drink of my own.
“Liam!” Andi ran over and hugged me. “You guys were amazing! Modest is stupid if they don’t call toi back.” They hadn’t told her yet.
“They kind of already have.” I told her.
“What?!” She backed away a bit. “When?!”
“About a mois ago.” Niall told her. “We start recording fall break. We fly out to LA.”
She screamed and threw herself into my arms, spilling my drink a bit. “Oh my God! I can’t believe it!”
She left my arms and hugged the rest of the guys, saving Harry for last. She threw her arms around his neck and he picked her up off the ground. It was like a train wreck. I couldn’t look away.
“Liam, can I talk to toi for a sec?” Louis asked.
“Sure.” I nodded and followed him out back. “What’s up.”
“I need to tell toi something. I already told Andi, she has known for months, but I didn’t want to tell anyone else because I’m afraid of what people will think. I know toi won’t judge me, and I think toi will find yourself in the same place I am.” He kicked a rock under his foot. “Liam, I’m gay.”
What? “What?”
He didn’t look up.
“I’m not judging you!” I told him. “I just don’t know why toi didn’t tell me sooner. Well I guess I do, but I wish toi felt like toi could have told me sooner.”
He shrugged. “Anyway, I know what it’s like to watch someone toi love, l’amour someone else and be loved my someone else.”
“I don’t…understand.” I shook my head.
“The others may not see it, but I do, and toi know, toi l’amour Andi.” He looked at me. “And I see that she loves toi too. She may not realize it, but one of these days she will, and toi may ou may not be there.”
“Why wouldn’t I?”
“Maybe toi will realized she’s not the one like toi thought she was. Maybe toi will fall out of love. Maybe toi will find someone else.”
I shook my head quickly. “I won’t. I can’t. Every time I see a girl I just compare them to Andi and they never level up.”
He smiled slightly. “Maybe toi should tell her.”
“No. No way. She’s with Harry. She loves him. I’m just the best friend.”
“Maybe not forever.” He smirked.
I furrowed my eye brows in question. He just led me back inside without an answer.
