According to the Daily Star, the Gotta Be toi singers have visited Cole's luxury flat - which he previously shared with ex-wife Cheryl Cole - and are prepared to splash out £3million on the property.
The newspaper claims that both Harry and Louis are fans of the haut, retour au début floor apartment, branding it their own "pimped-out penthouse" complete with boys toys.
The 1D lads are thought to have told Friends about their plans to purchase the Chelsea footballer's former pad at their New Year's Eve party - which was held at their current £3,000-a-week flat.
A pal told the tabloid: "Harry and Louis are living the life of luxury and loving every single minute.
“They had a wild bash with Louis hiring a coach to bring his old school chums. Harry was telling everyone he’s fallen head over heels for the flat, and loved the fact Ashley Cole used to live there.
The source added: “Most lads dream of lording around a footballer’s pad, so Harry and Louis have earned bragging rights.”
Former X Factor contestants One Direction, who are made up of Liam Payne, Zayn Malik, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson and Niall Horan, are gearing up to release their debut single and boy are they excited about it. Some of the boys have taken time out to discuss the single.
Zayn explained, "I'm excited because it's what I've been working towards all my life and it's finally happening. We're looking vers l'avant, vers l’avant to the reaction, but we don't 100% know what's going to happen." While Liam added, "I think we've found the perfect song, so hopefully it all goes well and everybody loves it."
Louis then concluded, "It's a relief because we were looking for a first single for quite a long time. There's a lot of expectation. All the fans know we've been busy recording, so there's a bit of pressure." The single is expected to be called ‘Everything About You’.

Can toi say "man" band? The boys of One Direction don't appear to be, well, boys any longer with the release of their album artwork for their November 25th release Midnight Memories. It's their third album in three years, so they've also had to grow up fast in the quick-moving pop musique industry.
