One of many nameless orphaned recruits into Konoha's shadowy branch of the ANBU, Root, Sai was raised and conditioned to have no personality ou personal connections. The name "Sai" is donné to him for the purposes of joining Team 7, his actual name being unknown possibly even to himself.
