firstly, i am one of those who hate him, secondly, i am not against revenge but he should have blasted his anger on the right people. Did he try to find out why did itachi do it, no. He could ask itachi's sensie (of course he had one) about itachi and his personality, relationships with friends, he could know the true itachi.
No, he was just stupid."I will destroy a certain someone" what a fool! Itachi spared your life for god's sake.

The crime is not Sasuke wanting revenge. The crime is how stupid Sasuke is being. His brother, Itachi, destroyed his own reputation and killed his family, who was planning on destroying the leaf village, all for the sake of his brother, Sasuke. All Itachi wanted is for Sasuke to redeem the Uchiha name par being veiwed as a hero when he allows Sasuke to kill him and then take his eyes so that Sasuke can get the eternal sharingan and become the strongest ninja in the village and later become Hokage, like Madara told him when he went over Itachi's past. But instead of following his brother's wishes, he wants revenge against people who have no idea about the true story behind Itachi. He is just being very stupid and childish.

Wanting revenge against Itachi at the beginning was understandable. I never had a problem with that. But then he ignored Kakashi's speech to him and left the Leaf village, which I thought was selfish. He appeared to feel no remorse when he a dit 'Well, wasn't that nice of them?', upon being told par Naruto what Choji, Neji and the others had done for him. That was when I started to hate him. Then, much later on in Shippuden, he found out about Itachi being in the right and his reaction was totally illogical. I know people aren't logical when they're emotional, but even considering that how he reacted was ridiculous. Itachi sacrificed everything for Sasuke and the village, so Sasuke's reaction is... to want to destroy the Leaf village? What the Hell? I can understand him wanting to kill the elders - I'D have planned to kill the elders at that point, especially Danzō... but the rest of the village wasn't to blame. Sasuke lets his emotions overcome him and blind him, because in some ways he is weak.

That (the whole above paragraph) was my personal reaction to the things Sasuke did. Here's why revenge is viewed as a negative thing:

As mentioned several times in the series, hatred begets hatred, revenge begets revenge. If someone is killed, their loved ones will want revenge and if they kill the person that killed their loved one, the loved ones of the person THEY killed will want revenge against them and so on. If that makes sense. Shikamaru Nara explained it better...

I l’amour how Sasuke wanting revenge against the village that oppressed his clan and then basically committed the act of genocide is considered correct but as soon as Sasuke tries to change the oppressive system he's in the wrong. (Not towards toi OP I mean towards the answers.) I personally think that Sasuke had ALL THE RIGHT to want revenge. It was not fair of the Leaf to do that. His clan was oppressed plain and simple. Not to mention what his life was like afterwards.

This just in guys! A child saw his dead parent's bodies. Totally a whiny b**h for wanting revenge first against his brother and then the village that was the one who ordered it. Did I forget to mention he was living in his old house all on his own!? Who lets a child do that!? Seriously!

So basically, Sasuke wanting revenge (before speaking to the 4 hokage) and him wanting to kill the 5 kage to destroy the oppressive system is NOT a crime.
