they say misha is from russia is it true??

the name misha isn't coming it sounds like a russian name?

No he's from Massachusetts, USA. But his mother went to Russia when she was in college. She had a boyfriend named Misha and much to his father’s chagrin she named Misha after him. His mother wished they were Russian, I guess that's why his name sounds russian:)

This is what I have heard to. I saw it in an interview where he stated this is how he got his name.

"Misha was born Misha Dmitri Tippens Krushnic. The name "Misha" came about from his mother's boyfriend she met during a trip to Russia. The last name, "Krushnic," goes back six generations in Canada although the family was not sure where it came from: Russia, Ukraine ou Poland."
