CHAPTER 5



Michael waited at the steps of the house.
Two hours past and jet nothing happened still.
Another heure added on to that and he started to get worried. “What if something happened to her?”He asked himself “What if something Skulduggery Pleasant killed her?”Michael thought a lot to himself. He started to pace, “No, of course not, she’s fine. Just running a bit late,” He a dit to himself, “But I’m going to phone her anyway. Just to make sure.” He raced into the house and grabbed the phone. He dialled the number and in the seconde ring she answered, “This is a bad time!” she yelled.
“Where are you!?” Michael asked impatiently. Then all of a sudden Michael heard a loud bang that came from the phone.
“Alex. Alex are toi okay!?” Michael yelled into the phone.
“I’m fine don’t worry about it,” she whispered
“What was that?” he asked confused, then another bang went off,
And the phone cut. He slammed the phone down and started to weep.............................................................
After a few hours the phone rang and Michael picked it up immediately.
‘Hey.’ She a dit no louder than a whisper it was course and rough.
“Alex toi don’t sound to good is everything okay?” Michael asked
“YIP, doesn’t worry I’m fine just a sore.” She assured him
“You sure, what was that noise?” He asked
“Well I suppose toi will eventually find out, I might as well tell you.” She stated
“What are toi talking about?” He asked confused
“I was shot, but don’t worry I’m fine now!” she a dit between coughs
“Alex toi were shot, how can toi be fine?” Michael questioned
“I’d l’amour to answer that question; it’s just Kenspeckle would like to speak to you. She stated

“Michael.......”
“Is she going fine?” Michael a dit interrupting him.
“Don’t talks just listen?” Kenspeckle commanded
“But ...............” Michael stuttered
“I a dit don’t talk.” His voice stern and firm”
“Diamond is fine after all i am the greatest medical scientist this world will ever know, well getting to the point if toi wish to see her I will send someone to fetch you.” Kenspeckle exclaimed
“Yes I would like to see Alex.” Michael whispered
“Very well, send someone to fetch you,”
Goodbye now. He a dit and hung up

He stood up and gracefully walked outside to go wait for whoever Kenspeckle sent to pick him up, after a few minutes past a 1954 Bentley came up the driveway and reared it in the parking. A tall gentleman in a pin striped suit and a fedora to match stepped out of the car, it was only after he turned to face me that I recognised him it was skulduggery pleasant......

“What did u do to her?” He accused.
“NOTHING, I have done nothing to her and wish for the conversation to end and if I don’t get what I want. I’ll become your worst nightmare understand”.
Michael nodded his head and sat down on the stairs and after a few minutes Drew appeared suivant to Skulduggery
“Ready to go?” He asked
“Yes sp replied walking towards Michael with Drew following him
When he was a few feet away Michael

“Take his hand and hold on tight skulduggery instructed.
He did as he was told, Skulduggery placed his hand on Drew’s shoulder and in a flash they were outside on abandon movie theatre

“Where are we?” Michael Asked
“Ireland, Dublin to be exact.” Stated
“England Michael!” yelled
“Yes, come on then he a dit walking into the cinema Michael followed him they went into the cinema down then went into the cinema stairs through the screen, down the hallway and into the main room in the medical bay. As soon as he spotted Alex he ran to her.
“Are toi okay?” He asked
“Yes I’m fine, she a dit sounding much better
“You almost gave me a cœur, coeur attack” Michael whispered
“Well at least it was almost a cœur, coeur attack and not a cœur, coeur attack, she exclaimed
“True, but don’t scare me like that again.” He spoke in hush tone.
“You’re coming home. Right?” he asked

“Properly not...............we have a meeting at the sanctuary. She explained
“But toi where shoot, can’t they give toi a break?” he asked
Oh and who’s diamond?” He questioned me.
“Me, how can toi not know you’re only daughters taken name.....?
It’s sad really.” she stated.
“Never mind that...so what have toi been up to?”
“Nothing just contemplating, whether ou not I should tell toi my amazing idea ou not.” she said
“And!” Michael motioned for her to continue.
“Well it’s not that important anymore.” she stuttered
“Alex....Diamond cœur, coeur whatever toi want to be called, it’s important to you...............!”
“B...u.....t....”
“Just listen.” he a dit cutting her off
“Fine!”She said.
“Then it’s important to me and don’t lie I can tell it’s important!” Michael stated.
“And how exactly do toi do that?” Alex asked
“It’s a father’s instinct!” Michael boosted
“You’ve only been my father for + - 2 days and I’ll tell toi when we go home.”
“So when do toi get to come home?” Michael asked
“Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh you’ll have to ask skulduggery about that.”
“What do toi have to ask me?” Skulduggery a dit walking towards them
“When can she come home?” Michael asked
“Now”
“What about the meeting?” Alex asked
“ohh it’s cancelled I’ll take toi back now”

And the y left for never land
