End of Chapter 17
I heard Piper stepping close and knew that she was not fond of cats, ou dogs...or well pretty much any animal that isn't a horse. I stepped back just in time before her teeth snapped on the cat.
"Piper!" I a dit as I scolded her. "Be nice! It's just a kitty, it wasn't doing anything to you."
She stepped closer again, putting her head near the cat, watching it with the strangest expression. She inhaled it's smell then turned her head and blew out all the air she had, obviously disgusted. I laughed at her, wondering what her issue was and why she was jouer la comédie so strange.
I looked down and saw the cat's yellow eyes watching me...reminding me of the cat I had first seen in the woods, then again in the barn. Could this really be the same cat? What were the chances that there were two ou three chats out there with the same markings and the same yellow eyes? I was about to look closer at the cat when it jumped out of my arms and ran under the fence, standing suivant to the foins, hay bales where it meowed loudly before starting to shake. I walked over to the fence about to jump it to go to it to help it when I noticed it was changing, it's form shimmering.
I wanted to look away, wanted to jump on Piper and run as far away as I could but I was La Reine des Neiges where I stood. I watched as the cat shimmered and changed, it's body growing and twitching. In what seemed like hours but was mere minutes passed and suddenly Michael was sitting on the foins, hay bale, smiling at me...the cat nowhere to be seen.
Chapter 18
"Maija," Michael a dit as he stood up, brushing something off himself.
I stumbled backwards, falling onto my butt as he started walking towards me. I held my hand out as I scrambled to my feet, reaching out and finding Piper's mane suivant to me.
"Maija, please listen to me. It's me." He a dit as he stepped closer to the fence.
"No, no no no no no no." I a dit over and over, tears stinging my eyes. "No stop, please Michael just stop."
He stopped at the fence his face a mask of pain that broke my heart. I wanted to go comfort him but was so freaked out at what I had just seen that I couldn't get my feet to move.
"Maija, I...." He said, frustrated par what was going on. "I just thought...never mind, I'm sorry."
I watched him, my cœur, coeur breaking as he started to turn and walk out of the barn. I felt the tears well up in my eyes as Piper put her head on her back and pushed me towards the fence, Concho whinnying behind me what I would assume was encouragement.
"Michael wait." I a dit softly, my cœur, coeur squeezing as he paused but then started walking again. "Please, come back. I'm sorry."
He paused for a minute before turning to face me, tear marks montrer on his face. When I saw them I moved faster then I knew was possible to his side, my hand going up to touch the marks on his face as he averted his eyes.
"I'm sorry," I a dit softly. "I..." I was so frustrated with myself, I didn't mean to hurt him.
"I just wanted toi to see the real me." He a dit softly.
"I do." I a dit as I reached down and wrapped his hand around mine, the warmth causing my cœur, coeur to race a bit. "It was just a shock, please come talk to me."
I realized that I had been taking everything really well, I wasn't sure when it would reach the breaking point...but I knew that this wouldn't be it. I couldn't let him be the one who pushed me past the edge, I wouldn't.
I pulled him over to the foins, hay bales, sitting down as I looked up at him, my hand still wrapped around his. He looked down at me for a minute before he sat down, but I noticed that he wouldn't look me in the eye.
"Michael?" I asked as I reached out and touched his cheek again.
"I'm sorry, please forgive me." He a dit softly.
"You don't have to apologize for being what toi are."
"I should have warned you, I should have explained first. I'll understand if toi don't want me aroun." He a dit before I cut him off, my anger building.
"Stop that." I a dit as I stood up. "I want toi around, I don't want toi to go away." I admitted as I turned my back on him so he couldn't see the look on my face.
I felt his hand on my shoulder as he pulled slightly, turning me so that I was facing him. He watched me closely before he leaned in, his lips brushing mine in the sweetest of kisses.
"You're sure toi want me around?" He asked, his face inches from mine.
I nodded, not trusting my voice because my cœur, coeur was pounding from the kiss. He smiled, his eyes lighting up before he leaned in and kissed me again, this time his hands moving to my neck as he kissed me again.
I giggled when he pulled back, both of us breathing a bit harder then usual. He took his hand and smoothed it down my cheek as he smiled. He hugged me tightly before he slid one hand down my arm, his hand wrapping around mine as our fingers interlaced.
"So, would toi like to hear my story?" He asked as he walked back to the foins, hay bales.
"Yes, please."
"Alright, have a siège this may take a while." He a dit as he laughed and leaned against the bales, getting comfortable for what could be a long story.

'Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe:
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.
'Beware the Jabberwock, my son!
The jaws that bite, the claws that catch!
Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun
The frumious Bandersnatch!'
He took his vorpal sword in hand:
Long time the manxome foe he sought --
So rested he par the Tumtum tree,
And stood a while in thought.
And, as in uffish thought he stood,
The Jabberwock, with eyes of flame,
Came whiffling through the tulgey wood,
And burbled as it came!
One two! One two! And through and through
The vorpal blade went snicker-snack!
He left it dead, and with its head
He went galumphing back.
'And hast thou slain the Jabberwock?
Come to my arms, my beamish boy!
Oh frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!'
He chortled in his joy.
