Learn the dates for 5 more Marvel films through 2019!
The Marvel Cinematic Universe has continued to grow every year since it began in 2008 with Marvel\'s "Iron Man," and now we\'ve got the dates for five more films coming your way through 2019!
While we can\'t tell you just what they are yet, you can look forward to new films hitting theaters July 28 and November 3, 2017; July 6 and November 2, 2018; and May 3, 2019.
Stay tuned to Marvel.com for the latest on the ever-expanding Marvel Cinematic Universe, True Believers--you won\'t want to miss a moment of it!
I can only hope that since hell will freeze over before Fox gives up the rights to X-Men and Fantastic Four (before they\'ve butchered the franchises with their continued terrible films, ugh), maybe instead Marvel Studios will expand and give us more than just 2 films per year. With how many characters they still can utilize in films and with how many all of us are begging to see, I hope they\'ll recognize our fandom and how much we approve of what they\'re doing that they\'ll give us more per year.
Everyone wants spin-offs for Black Widow, Hawkeye (I want to see him get a girl, be it Widow or introduce us to Agent Barbara Morse aka Mockingbird, his future wife), a better Hulk film (I can take or leave this, though), introductions to Black Panther, Doctor Strange, Ant-Man and with their rumors of each Guardian potentially getting spin-offs. And I, personally, want some Quicksilver & Scarlet Witch adventures that take them to Attilan to introduce us to the Inhumans, the Terrigen Mist and that whole section of the Marvel Universe.
Some of those dates get me thinking about age and it\'s a tad worrysome for me. It\'s not like I\'m as old as Stan Lee (no offense, as the man has to be in pretty damn good shape reaching his early 90\'s now), but I\'d at least like for them to either speed up the process of this long-term, grand-scale story the Marvel Cinematic Universe is telling us movie by movie as the years go on or just flesh it out more with more films. I understand films take much longer to produce than comics do, but I just hope that maybe Marvel Studios recognizes they\'ve got the market cornered on awesome comicbook superhero films.
The mere fact their films also cross genres (a period film, conspiracy political thriller, Shakespearean/epic fantasy tales and sci-fi techie movies) is another impressive feat as well. All we get with Fox\'s X-Men and Fantastic Four is sci-fi (sure, DoFP is a touch of historical fiction too). We, the fans, approve of what Marvel Studios is doing and want more of it.
P.S. Anyone else notice despite how much you may enjoy and like Fox\'s X-Men: Days of Future Past, doesn\'t the whole premise of the future Sentinels bother you?
Spoiler alert: the future Sentinels gain their capability to adapt and counter the future mutants because they\'re infused with DNA of a shapeshifter. Remember, a shapeshifter/metamorph can only alter their appearance not their abilities, evidenced in X1 when Mystique shifts into Wolvie and sprouts claws that Logan simply slices through. "No-one\'s ever left a scar quite like you" says she can\'t heal like him either, even if she were to shift into him to gain his healing factor.
So, these Sentinels shouldn\'t be able to counter Iceman\'s cold or Sunspot\'s heat as we see them do, yet they do it. The one Colossus fights is different, since it adapts to his organic steel by simply copying it, which has you wondering if instead they\'re infused with Rogue\'s DNA. Right? Or if maybe Synch\'s DNA is utilized? Since his mutation is the ability to "synch" with other nearby mutants and gain their powers/abilities. Think about it all, because when you ask yourself this question as I did, the whole film unravels. Poorly done, Bryan Singer, trying to give Jennifer Lawrence\'s character more pull in the film despite it ruining the premise.
Black Widow solo movie? no thanks. I\'d like to see The Infinite Gauntlet as A3; if they get to give us Planet Hulk they MUST give us WORLD WAR HULK. Turn off, let\'s go.
Here\'s what I think will happen for Phase 3 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Okay. Here it goes:
3) "Doctor Strange" - Likely to be confirmed for 7/8/16 at SDCC 2014
4) "Thor: Ragnarok" - Likely to be confirmed for 5/5/17 at SDCC 2014
5) "Black Panther" - Likely to be confirmed for 7/28/17 at SDCC 2014
6) "Planet Hulk" Likely to be confirmed for 11/3/17 at SDCC 2014
9) "Marvel\'s Avengers: War of Two Universes" - 5/3/19 and 11/1/19 - End of Phase 3 of MCU
Oh and for "The Avengers 3" for May 3, 2019, I hope it will be titled "Avengers: War of Two Universes" where we will see the Guardians of the Galaxy and the Avengers team-up to battle Thanos and his Infinity Gauntlet along with his minions including Ronan, Nebula, Korath, Loki, The Other, and.... wait for it.... RED SKULL RETURNING AS COSMIC SKULL! OH YEAH, BABY! WHOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My guess that will probably be wrong because it\'s 1:30am and what am I doing:
2019: Avengers: The Infinity War (it will be based on "The Infinity Gauntlet" but "War" sounds cooler).
Personally, I think Ms Marvel might suit the direction the Marvel Cinematic Universe is going in more than Black Widow, but we do know that a Black Widow movie has been discussed (even if it\'s at an early stage). I\'d also like to see Doctor Strange receive a second movie over Thor due to the former\'s large role in The Infinity Gauntlet but urgh, Thor 3 is already confirmed. Maybe he could get a sequel over Guardians of the Galaxy (although Marvel have already talked about hopes to turn it into a franchise)?
I hope there\'s a Black Widow movie coming too!
Wait... They\'re moving the May releases to July to make room for Star Wars, though
I really HopE there is some lOki in there somewhere..
The Avengers 3 for May 2019 and be titled "Avengers: War of Two Universes" where we will see the Guardians of the Galaxy and the Avengers team-up to battle Thanos and his Infinity Gauntlet along with his minions including Ronan, Nebula, Korath, The Other, and.... wait for it.... RED SKULL RETURNING AS COSMIC SKULL! OH YEAH, BABY! WHOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Please, let one of the November dates be a Black Widow movie. The Hunger Games 2, 3 and 4 are all out on November 2013, 2014 and 2015. It will be nice if Black Widow takes the next November!
@lhunter0324 I don\'t, because it would be without Robert Downey Jr. and a new actor taking over may not necessarily be well-received. RDJ is contracted for Avengers 2 and 3 and then he\'s done. Besides, we\'ve already had an Iron Man trilogy and they wrapped that up with too nice a bow on it anyway. Tony Stark spends 4 films with an arc reactor on his chest to keep him alive and then they go and FINALLY do the surgery to remove the shrapnel in his heart? Why not do that soon as he got back in Iron Man 1? Right?
That, plus blowing up all his suits just to show loyalty/dedication to Pepper. Now, we have to only imagine he instead builds the custom rig we see his cartoon incarnation use that allows him to verbally-construct a customizable armor suit with whatever composition/features he needs it to have right then and there. Like the walkway we see him have in Avengers 1 that takes his suit off for him, but even more sophisticated and elaborate such that he won\'t need to keep a vault of 40 suits but instead can build/customize one on the spot.
@GOTG8114 Yeah I think Red Skull will come back, coze you can say that he didn\'t die in the First Avenger but maybe teleported to another realm.
@GOTG8114 It would make more sense for Ronan and the Kree to team up with the Guardians, like in the Annihilation and Annihilation: Conquest storylines. I like "good" Ronan. That version of Ronan is much more interesting.
@pabloamerica No way they release an Avengers flick in the fall.
