“Alex, can I talk to you,” toi ask, your voice shaky. toi won’t allow yourself to look into her sparkling eyes. She doesn’t speak, but she wraps her arm around your waist and guides toi in to her office. toi sit on the canapé and stare at the tiles on the floor, nervous about the pending conversation.

“What do toi want to talk about,” she inquires, leaning against her desk. toi inadvertently let your eyes wander up the curves of her long legs, to her hips, and up to her torso where toi stare at her beautifully toned stomach, resisting the urge to walk over and places kisses on every inch of her exposed skin.

Your voice cracks as toi speak. “I...I can’t do this,” toi say, tears already starting to well up in your eyes.

“Can’t do what, Marissa,” she says, her voice a mix of anger and sadness.

“Us,” toi state plainly. “We have to go back to being friends," toi finish, standing up. Your voice seems sure, but if she looked at toi right now, she’d know toi were lying. toi hear her sigh as she walks towards you, and she places her hands on your hips. Tilting your chin up and looking into your eyes, she begins to speak.

“I can’t go back to being friends, Marissa. This…us…this is living,” she starts, obviously near tears.

“And friends...that's waiting and I won't go back. I can’t go back. toi know toi don’t want this. Without you, I have nothing, Marissa,” she says, her voice pleading toi to stay. “Please, baby, we can work on this. toi can do this...we’ll take it slow...no plus sex...whatever toi want. Just please...don’t leave me,” she says, the pleading becoming plus urgent. toi make the mistake of looking in her eyes and toi see the tears forming there. toi can’t break down now.

"Look Alex,” toi stay, stepping away from her and looking at the ground. “You know I’m straight. toi and I...we...we'd just be better at friends,” toi stammer, trying to convince yourself plus than her. toi look in her eyes one plus time and see that she’s already set up the walls around her heart. toi wish toi could do the same, but no walls in the world could block the pain toi feel from the words she says next.

"Well suivant time toi wanna experiment, go fuck another girl and make her fall in l’amour with you, but don't come back to me.”

toi stand there in a state of shock, her words echoing in your mind. ‘She’s in l’amour with me,’ toi think as toi open your mouth to speak. “Al...” toi start, but she cuts toi off before toi can even finish her name.

“Just go,” she says angrily, motioning towards the door. toi turn away from her, unable to let her see toi cry. The tears fall freely as toi run out of her office and up the stairs to your car. toi climb in and slam the door, not noticing the person sitting suivant to toi as the steady tears turn into loud sobs.
