A Strange Way to Fall in l’amour Chapter Seventeen
I was going to stay at the plage a little longer. I wanted to sit out here and think in peacefulness of the ocean. It was nice to be out here par myself. But, I had been par myself for years. Well, except for Mark being par my side during the years in the army. I had no idea what to do now that I was back in the states. The army was my career and pretty much the only thing I knew.
"Hey Kyle," Lola said, "whatcha still doing here?"
"Just thinking," I said.
"They must be pretty important! toi have been sitting here for a while," she stated, "trying to think if toi should put a ring on your girlfriend's finger?"
Lola started laughing after what she just said.
"No, not that! I have been way too busy to date," I a dit laughing a little.
"Ahh, I would have thought toi would had settled down par now," she said, "with a couple of kids and in some nice neighborhood!"
"Why would toi think," I asked.
"You just seemed like the type of guy that would have a family par now," she shrugged.
"Me," I asked laughing, "I have been over seas numerous amount of times! I could not leave a family behind to go fight that many times."
"Oh okay," she a dit as she sat down beside me.
"Just oh okay," I asked, "that is all?"
"Yep," Lola a dit as she stared out at sea, "have toi ever gotten hurt over there?"
"Once," I said, "but nothing serious!"
"Oh neat," she a dit as I looked her oddly, "well, not neat! But, that is good toi did not get hurt too bad!"
"Yeah, I like my job; I think I will keep it," I a dit smiling, "but what are toi still doing here?"
"I was taking a walk on the beach," she said, "I l’amour this place. It's like I belong here!"
"That's good that toi have something toi love," I said.
"Why are toi still in your uniform," she asked curiously.
"I have not gotten a chance to change out of it," I said, "I wear this uniform everyday that I forget to change out of it when I come back home!"
"That is funny," she a dit laughing.
"So, what have toi been up to all these years I have been gone," I asked.
"Eh, toi know most of it," she shrugged, "basically fighting for my life and putting those people in jail."
"I am sorry," I said, "I wish I could have been here and that would have never happened!"
"It would have happened if toi were here," she stated, "it's whatever now! Do toi ever have nightmares about your job ou whatever toi call it?"
"Sometimes, but not very much," I stated, "do toi every have nightmares about everything that has happened to you?"
"Honestly," she a dit as she looked over me, "every night. I try and stay up as long as possible and wake up as early as possible. I relive everything that has every happened to me every night."
"Does it still scare you," I asked curiously.
"Every time, toi think after living it once and dreaming about for an ou so, toi would know what is coming. But, I don't," she said.
"Have toi told Horatio," I asked.
"No, I have not," Lola said, "and I am not going too! Him and everyone else at his department have tried to get me to talk to anyone about everything. But, I do not need someone telling me how to get rid of nightmares. Besides, it probably would not help at all!"
"Oh," I said.
"Don't strain your voice too much," she a dit laughing.
"Sorry, I just keep thinking what if," I stated.
"It is the past," she a dit as she paused, "it is a, whatever?"
"Okay," I a dit with a bit of laughter.
"Are toi going back over seas ou are toi here for good," Lola asked.
"I am not sure," I stated, "I think I need to do a couple of plus tours. The army is all I know! I know Mark will try and get a job on base in the states. On the count that he is going to get married soon!"
"Is he your age," she asked curiously.
"Yep," I said.
"Wow, to get married at your age ou a an ou two older than me," she a dit stunned.
"I guess, I see what Mark has and all I can think about it having that too," I said, "I want it so bad!"
"Really," she a dit as it came out in a laugh.
"What," I asked confused, "is it bad to say I want a girlfriend? I want someone to l’amour me?"
"No, not at all," Lola said, "I have been trying way to hard to get people to l’amour me! And look what has all happened to me!"
"Everything that has happened to toi is not because toi are looking for someone to love," I stated, "You Lola, have the worst luck I have ever seen!"
"You're telling me," she a dit laughing.
"Lola," someone called out.
"Seriously," she groaned, "I guess Horatio has sent out a crew to come find me!"
"Why would he do that," I asked confused.
"Because, he thinks I am suicidal! And I promise I am not," Lola said, "I have good job coming my way! I have been adopted par someone who should have adopted me a long time ago! But better late then never!"
"Right," I a dit as someone interrupted me.
"Lola," a man asked.
"Hello Robert," she a dit with dread in her voice, "I am okay! No need to panic, toi know!"
"Well, Horatio is worried about you," Robert said, "and toi should not be talking to strangers!"
"Robert, this is Kyle! He is not a stranger," I said, "now montrer some respect to him!"
"Sorry, I am Robert," the man said, "thank toi for all toi do!"
"It is alright," I said, "no problem!"
"Come on Lola, Horatio wants toi home!"
"Fine," she grumbled, "bye Kyle! See toi later!"
"Bye Lola," I a dit as I watcher her walk away.
