The Brennan Rock & Roll Academy has helped dozens of KELOLAND kids gain confidence and musical skills since it opened in 2013.
An event tonight at The District that features rock legends Paul Stanley and Jack Blades will help raise money for the academy. The event will also be the world premiere of the Badlands House Band.
If you want to "KISS" your night away for a good cause, The District is the place to be. Rock legends will join the newly-formed Badlands House Band for an evening of entertainment.
"Jack Blades is coming out here, the lead singer of Night Ranger and Damn Yankees and potentially the biggest rock star of all time, Paul Stanley from KISS, will be joining the band tonight live on stage and be doing the entire encore with the Badlands House Band," Chuck Brennan said.
The concert is free with a donation to the Brennan Rock & Roll Academy. The event is a kickoff for the new band. While it will go on tour in the midwest following tonight's show, many of its members will be instructors and volunteers at the academy when the group isn't hitting the stage.
"We could not get on the road and get on that bus and go on tour without having our first show right here in Sioux Falls. This is home base, this is our new hometown and this is our community. We're really proud to debut the new band right here in Sioux Falls," Badlands House Band lead singer Ron Keel said.
Badlands House Band also represents the Badlands Entertainment Group. Work on the 60,000-square-foot Badlands Pawn, Gold and Jewelry in Sioux Falls continues. Stanley, who is in town for tonight's concert, also got a tour of the facility that will open this Thanksgiving.
"I'm usually not very tongue-tied and I'm not at a loss for words. This is beyond the scope of anything I've seen and certainly Sioux Falls. It's something where people are going to be pulling off the freeway and making more than a pit stop. You'll be making an afternoon or an evening stop," Stanley said.
Doors open Thursday night at 7 p.m. The concert will be filmed for one of the upcoming Badlands TV shows.
