my sister thinks that the phantom of the opera is better than sweeney todd
but i think sweeney todd is best musical movie of all

well i dont actually know, =D i haven't seen the phantom of the opera =) but Sweeney Todd is my favourite musical =) Behind Cry Baby haha

Honestly, you can't compare Sondheim and Andrew Lloyd Weber, but if we're talking about film adaptations, Sweeney is better. The vocals were great and it stayed true to the original production unlike Phantom where they throw in scenes that don't belong, cut numbers that are significant to the plot, and hire a guy with the wrong type of voice for the character (I'm talking about Gerard Butler).

Thanks, Tim Burton, for not fucking up Sweeney.
