I like the finality of the book. Some decisions are completely irreversible. I really enjoyed when Will describes how the individual atoms of their soul will meet up over time and cling together. That was a beautiful image.

That was the whole idea of the ending.

I think it will stunt Lyra’s character to not at least interact with will again cause she can’t truly fall in love if she
Is still in love with will. It stops her really having believable new relationships that people can get behind.
They need closure at least in some way to re connect older over building a fantasy image of each other’s lives
