Though she was portrayed excellently in the film.

Yeah, Imelda Stauton was fantastic in the film, but Umbridge seemed much more evil in the book.

i hated her in both so i just picked one.

She was well portrayed in the movie, but the book has more time to show just how evil she really is.

I was this close to choosing the movie. Just because she made that little boy carve into his hand. That was despicable.

i hated her because of how cruel she was to agrid i cried more than any other time that i cried during reading the books during that part

lol.. I like her..... Umbrige was just plain evil.. and I think the book can portray any character better, and to more extremes.

You got to see more of her evilness in the book, but omg in the movie she was so well cast i was amazed!

She seem WAY meaner in the book,i think, rather than in the OOTP film.=)

The portrayal in the movie was very good, however in all cases (at least for me), every Harry Potter emotion is intensified times ten when reading the books.

Definitely in the book, but it was so much more creepy to actually see it visualized.
