I love him, he is one of my favorites, and yes he was mean to snape but he grew up and snape also did things to him when he could, also I don't judge a character only because in one scene he was acting like and ass, everyone has been to someone in some point of their lives, he was a good friend, he loved Lily and Harry, I'm sure he was a good Dad the short time he was one, and I do like what we know about his personality a lot

NO. Not at all. He's such a JERKFACE! He's like my stupid ex boyfriend, thinking he's so much better than everyone and that everyone loves him.

he used to be a jerk but he changed remember... i think someone mentioned it (probally loony) that james was a jerk but he changed about 2 years after the scene harry saw occured, so....

I'm in LOVE with James Potter. (probably has more to do with fanfiction than the actually book, but whatever.) It's really cute how he loved Lily so much and waited around for her.

I didn't feel enough first hand experience of his good side was given to the readers to make me like him. Too much of his good side was heard second hand through other characters, or Harry's not too sharp memories, while we actually got proper looks at his faults.
I respect that as a character he changed into someone who was brave and could've been likeable (I say could've because being one of the good guys doesn't automatically mean likeable, there are good guys I don't like in the books) but there wasn't time or place in the books to show that, so I never liked him.
My automatic association with him, however much he may or may not have changed in years we didn't get a chance to see, is him being an arrogant bully.

He's actually my least liked character in the books. More than any villian, more than anyone.

He and Harry are remarkably alike, and I'm not a fan of either. We don't learn much about adult James, but from what we know about him at Hogwarts, he was annoying and self-absorbed.

ugh the things he did to Snape as a kid can never be made up for. I will never understand how Lily went with him and not Severus

I'm leaning more on a no, but I'm not entirely sure. He was a bully, and I hated his attitude. But I'm not sure if he changed is ways completely or not. It seemed clear that Sirius still thought of Snape the same way, so it makes me wonder if James was the same. If he at least felt bad for what he did, I might say yes- but I just don't know for sure.

He was a good father, and I assume a good husband. But the bully side of him keeps me at an iff.
