Was Ariana a squib ou not?

I don't believe so. Magic is suppose to be based on an emotional level- and those boys who hurt her scared her into hiding her magic. She was a witch, but she tried to conceal her magical abilities, which worked against her because they found their way out anyway.

The magic she tried bottling up rendered her mad. Squibs have a few magical abilities, but they're quite limited- Ariana didn't seem limited, they described her as dangerous if her emotions got the best of her.

NO, she was not a Squib. Squibs are incapable of performing any magic, ever.

No, she wasn't. When she was still young she used accidental magic in her backyard. There were some muggle boys hiding in a bush, and they saw her do it. They tried to make her tell them how she did it, but she couldn't. So her father came out, and he ended up killing them. She was to scared to use her magic again, and tried to bottle it up inside her. But toi can't do that with magic, and so every once and a while it came out in angry bursts. Her mother did everything she could to help Ariana, but Ariana ended up killing her.

If toi remember, Ariana was teased horribly par those Muggle boys. She became somewhat of the opposite of a Squib. She rarely displayed magic. When she did, it was very unpredictable. toi should reread Deathly Hallows again. Read Rita Skeeter's book. It was never mentioned in the movies. Ariana was a very strange girl.

To expand on what Dragonsmemory said, Aberforth a dit that the Muggle boys saw her doing magic. They asked her to do it again, but she couldn't because she was too young to control it. After that, "They got a bit carried away trying to stop the little freak from doing it." Direct quote from the book.

I don't think so. She wasn't able to control her magic at that age and then she went through a traumatic experience which almost halted her ability, but that doesn't mean she wasn't able to do magic before. The experience just held her back, but I don't think her magic "went away". I think if she had lived longer she might have gained some control over her magic.

According to the wikia, she is a half-blood so I don't think so. I really don't know.
