I agree that we should NOT stereotype like that. Just because SOME Twilight fans act and talk like idiots is no reason to lump them together with the intelligent ones and call toi all stupid.

I 100% agree. We should treat each other with respect, even if we have different opinions and all. Only if we deserve respect though, XD.

We don't Nobody bullies Twilight fans simply because they are Twilight fans, there are several Twilight fans on this spot, as well as people who are fans of both that we respect. Why? Because they aren't brats about it. They don't say OMG TWILIGHT IS SO MUCH BETTER CUZ EDDY IS SO HAWT HP SUX!!!!!!!!! It's the Twiligt fans who are rabid, and obsessive who we have a problem with. I cetaintly don't think all Twilight fans are dumb, I'm sure there are many perfectly intelligent Twi-fans out there. It's those lunatic fangirls, commonly refered to as "twitards," people have a problem with.

Most of us do not assume people are stupid because they like Twilight- the majority of people in my Set 1 class at school l’amour it. Again, I'm sorry toi feel like that, but something tells me toi may be misinterpreting things.

I also have a problem on this topic. It annoys me greatly when Twi-fans rejoindre this spot, start an argument and then complain when Harry Potter fans respond angrily. The way I see it, anyone who starts a débats has no right to complain if the débats annoys them, unless it gets personal. And, in the 9 months I've been fanpopping, it never has. Before toi complain, check again, because most of the time people are just over sensitive.

PS: Actually, the abuse I've seen directed at Harry Potter fans ou Anti-s is shocking. Just a few months ago, we were told to burn in hell. If we count Twilight fans on one side, and Anti-s on the other, Twilight fans have done a lot!

The reason Twifans get this label is because there are so many who only like Twilight because Edward is "hawt!!11" and who bash (yes, bash) Harry Potter because Harry Potter is ugly. They also bash Harry Potter, saying things like "there's no love" and "the bad guys are stupid!" without having ever read it. This is a débats spot, we want to débats with reasonable fans, not with shallow, mindless Twitards.

Seriously, I can count on one hand how many reasonable Twifans I've met, both in real life and here on Fanpop. Yes, we HP fans tend to jump the gun and assume you're all brainless, yes, it's unfair, but Twifans do the same to us.

When someone comes to this spot and says they like Twilight better, the HP would like some reasons why they like it better. That's not bashing. I l’amour both movies. I am not a crazy fangirl who gives reasons why I like it, coz the characters are hot. I like them for different reasons. And plus I am not the type 2 insult someone and mistereat coz the have a different opinion. I understand and respect it. I'm sure I am not the only one on this spot who agrees and stands in the middle coz they like both and débats about it. Oh no, I respect people's opinions, it's my opinions of why I think there's something wrong with what they said, and I give my argument. I respect other people's opinions, as long as they respect mine. My opinion is Harry Potter is much plus intellectuality better than Twilight, planned better, every little detail has a meaning, whereas Twilight seems as if SMeyer's written notes and thrown them all together.
I know other's opinions may be different, but that is mine.
It's true, we do stereotype sometimes, but some Twilight fans are a bit overboard, as are Harry Potter fans, but we're not "mistreating" Twilight fans, we're mainly voicing our opinion. We are allowed to do that in a never-ending débats right?

I completely agree. I'm Team Harry Potter all the way, but I'm getting very irritated par the direction SOME (not all) HP fans are going. I try not to insult the actual Twilight FANS, but I'm guessing I have in the past, even though I didn't mean to.

i do not stereotype, if someone says to me i am a twilight fan then thats fine in fact certain members of my family like twilight. what i don't like are the twilight fans who call people who have a different opinion to themselves losers ou nerds ou bitches, i have never called a twilight fan any of those simply because of their taste in livres and i do not expect to be treated that way, also i am the kind of person who almost automatically corrects peoples grammar and spelling it is not meant as an insult it is just the kind of person i am, i have read both twilight and harry potter and i simply didn't like twilight i do not expect to be called a loser for simply having a differing opinion.

I'm a fan of both and really the only Twi-fans that bother me are the ones that say, "OMG! EDDYKINS IS SO F-ING HAWT!!!!!!!!11111" and the ones that say that Harry Potter is for kids while Twilight's the mature deal. Yes, I'm a fan of both, but I like Harry Potter a lot more. And there are some looney Twi-fans on Fanpop, good example: EdwardsBest. She constantly babbles about how hot Edward is and she constantly insults anyone who doesn't like it. But, most of the twi-fans I know aren't really rabid ou insane. But, toi seem like a very sane Twi-fan. And, hey, if toi like Twilight, that's your opinion and I'm okay with that. So really, yes we do tend to stereotype a bit. But, me, I like both so, I only really negatively reply to the insane rabid Twi-fans like EB.

The reason Twilight fans are mistreated is because they come here and montrer us that thy're immature, MOST come here just to spam and trolll AND TYPE LYKE THRER BANGIN THER HEDS ON TE KIBOOD AT RAHDOOM!!!!! Thats really the only impression they've donné us, some uses like spherequeen and chargin were fine. But most went out of thir way to annoy us and some come here without lire Harry Potter and just saying it's lame its for nerds and are unable to back up their reasoning. Also they cant seem to come up with any reason but Edward is hot for likeing the books. If Twilight fans want respect they nee to earn it.

If toi haven't noticed, most of the Twihards on here ARE a bit... y'know. Their grammar and spelling is suicide- really, it is. I think only THOSE kinda fans are mistreated, otherwise, we HP fans have no problem against them, I believe.
The thing is- there's no point in having an argument against toi because toi don't see what the Twilight fans do. We don't go around insulting them for no reason at all- there must be some background behind what we say. What about those Twilight fans who spam our forums saying stuff like, "HP SUXXXXX! Other Twilight fans like sapherequeen, and I suppose toi (you sound perfectly decent) do not get mistreated. Sapherequeen is on my most respected list, to be very honest.
Yes, I do agree some HP fans do label ALL the Twihards as being dumb, which I think is wrong because I can perfectly see that's not true. Otherwise, we have a reason to do what we do! :) Maybe Twihards should respect us a little too.

I don't think that all Harry Potter fans insult us, but I don't like it when I get insulted just because I'm a Twilight fan. What I hate plus than anything else is when Harry Potter fans stereotype and say that I'm illiterate. I agree with what toi a dit except for Twilight fans insult Harry Potter fans too, and sometimes we deserve to be insulted.
It's true that I've seen many illiterate Twilight fans on this spot, but I've also seen many illiterate Harry Potter fans, and I notice that no one picks on them, ou tells them to write better. I just feel that us Twilighters are getting singled out for some things.
