Chris: Yeah, toi put them together as partners for the assignment dealing with passion and stuff, and toi won't award them a duet yet. toi give Finn and Rachel a duet, Kurt and Rachel as well. But no Furt?
Ryan: Hey, I'm gonna write it the way I wanna right it.
Cory (holding out a gun): Okay, that's it. We work as hard as everyone else, and Finn and Kurt deserve a duet.
Ryan (stuttering): B-but I already wrote the--
Cory: Then rewrite it, dammit!!!
Ryan (whimpering): Okay.
(About an heure later, Ryan Murphy finished rewriting the script, and gave them to Cory Monteith and Chris Colfer. They rehearsed them and went into character as Finn Hudson and Kurt Hummel. In the first scene of the script, all of New Directions are in the choir room. Finn and Kurt were performing link par Elton John. The piano guy is playing the piano to set the mood.)
Finn (singing):

Kurt (singing):
Jésus freaks out in the street

In the auditorium
Finn (singing):

The words she knows the tune she hums
(Kurt is looking in Blaine's direction, and Finn is looking in all of the girls in their eyes.)
Finn and Kurt (singing):

toi had a busy jour today
Finn (singing softly):
toi had a busy day...
(All of New Directions start to clap and cheer. Mr. Schue stands up as they make their way to their seats.)
Mr. Schue: Wow, toi guys did amazing.
Rachel: Yes, weren't they just...wonderful?
Finn: Still not doing it, Rachel.
Kurt: It's nice that we're (calling out to Ryan) actually having a brotherly bond, isn't it?
Quinn: And the point for doing that is--
Finn: Thanks a lot, Kurt. You're the best.
Quinn (folding her arms): So this is what it feels like to be a background person.
Mike: Trust me; no one enjoys it.
(Finn and Kurt are at the Lima haricot, fève with Rory and Brittany, getting some lattes.)
Kurt: So, what are toi guys doing for Valentine's Day?
Rory: Why so early?
Kurt: If it's anything I learned from watching "Fast Times At Barrington High", it's never to early to prep for special time with the one toi care about.
Brittany: Well...does a study rendez-vous amoureux, date count?
Finn: What do toi mean?
Brittany: toi know, studying for an English test and making out with the lights on kind of thing.
(Silence. Rory looks surprised.)
Finn: Well, I'm actually going to watch a romantic movie ou something--
Kurt: Finn!
Finn: What?
Rory: Don't toi have a lady in your life to spend with?
Finn: Other than that tagalong Barbra Streisand-esque? No.
Kurt: Well, toi can't spend Valentine's jour alone. We all need someone to spend time with once in a while, right?
(The entrance to the Lima haricot, fève slams open. Quinn walks through with a file folder in her hand and her wallet in the other.)
Finn: Quinn?
Brittany: I kept calling her Rapunzel because she used to have long hair when I saw her at the films once, but then it was cut off and it turned brown. ou maybe it was someone else.
Kurt (looking at Quinn): Looks like someone's having a bad day.
Rory (sweating, looking at Quinn): I'm not.
