Ours is the Fury: I know a lot of fans were really counting on Pedro Pascal being nominated for Outstanding Guest Actor, but it was always something of a long shot, with this being his first major role. The nominees for that award, these days, are usually faces more familiar to the Television Academy voters. I’m very happy that Headey was nominated, after years of strong performances, and it is great to see Ramin Djawadi’s score nominated. What do you think of the nominations?

Other sites are reporting 19 nominations? I’m confused about the cinematography nominations…
Thrones FTW. I’m delighted that Ramin Djawadi is finally nominated!!
They have a decent shot at winning a lot of these i think.
Count ‘em. It’s 20. I think sometimes they don’t count maybe the Interactive Special type awards as part of the official count, but whatever, an award is an award.
I’d be pissed about Pedro Pascal and Sophie Turner being snubbed but we’re going to lose to a half-season of a show that ended a year ago in all of the first categories anyway
Didn’t even notice that Ramin Djawadi got a nom for outstanding music composition. Awesome!
I’m sad about Charles Dance and Pedro Pascal missing out :(
Anyways, moving on. This is great news for the show, and they absolutely deserved it! Best season so far, and receiving the most nominations in the drama category, ahead of more emmy-friendly shows like Breaking Bad and True Detective, is monumental.
I predict a win for Peter Dinklage and for many of the editing categories (sadly, I expect TD to get directing and BB writing).
What makes me most excited for this, though, is that Lena Heady has become an actual contender. She will have fantastic material next year, and I can definitely see her winning!
I feel like they missed out on something big in the supporting actress side but I can’t remember who (love Lena but next season should be her season). Was it Sophie?
Anyway, the Emmys only go for obvious names. They would never give people like Pedro Pascal a chance when they’ve got Peter Dinklage, Lena Heady and Diana Rig. Not that they weren’t perfect in season 4 but still.
