‘Frozen 2’: Kristen cloche, bell Says She’s About to Head Back into the Recording Studio 

Three years ago Disney unleashed a mammoth cultural phenomenon with

, Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee‘s animated tale about the bond between two sisters and the power of confronting your fears. The film trampled the box office, took home two Oscars, spawned an animated short and a Broadway musical, and enthralled a generation of young movie-goers with Anna and Elsa, two new Disney princesses for the ages. Ever since, fans have been waiting for

Frozen 2, and while things were looking grim for a while, Disney officially confirmed the sequel last year, and now, according to star Kristen Bell, the sequel is just about to roll into production.

When I sat down with Bell to talk about

, her upcoming comedy with Melissa McCarthy, I had the opportunity to ask her about the progress on Frozen 2 and the actress revealed she’ll be heading back into the recording booth in short order.

When I asked if she’d started recording lines for

Not yet. We’re just about to. They’ve just written it and they’re still doing tweaks, but I think we should be recording this month. The story is great, and they exude quality. What I know about that whole team is that they wouldn’t just put something out to put it out. That’s why it took them so long to even announce that we were doing a second one. Generally when you have a first successful movie you want to make a second one. It took them a while because they wanted to figure out what story they needed to tell and what would be important and engaging and I think they found it.

‘s success, and you can bet songwriting team Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez, who took home one of the aforementioned Academy Awards for earworm sensation “Let It Go”, are hard at work on the next set of songs you won’t be able to get out of your head. However, they haven’t gone to work with the cast — at least Bell — as of yet. Here’s what she said when I asked if she had started song work on the sequel.

No, not yet. We record all the time for different parks or different parks that open overseas, we’ll do a mashup for the rides. So we actually get to go in — Josh [Gad] and Idina [Menzel], Jonathan [Groff] and I — all the time and record new bits of the music. When Epcot center opens we’ll record a bunch of new music. So we have little bits of

in our life at all times, but I’m excited to get started on the new movie.
