Warner Bros., Scholastic, HarperCollins and Insight Editions gave a bit more information about the upcoming
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them movie tie-in books, being released this September. More information on them is below.
Scholastic’s extensive licensed publishing program includes a comprehensive range of formats, including movie handbooks, coloring and creativity books, guided journals, paper craft books, poster books, and sticker books.
In making the announcement, Ellie Berger, President of Scholastic Trade, said, “As the U.S. publisher that introduced Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone to American readers in 1998, we are thrilled to partner with Warner Bros. Consumer Products to complement the expansion of J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World. We look forward to bringing the world of these amazing movies to existing fans and a new generation of readers.”
In partnership with Warner Bros. Consumer Products,
Insight Editions has acquired rights to a global publishing program for the highly anticipated film series Fantastic Beasts. The program, which launches in Fall 2016, will include deluxe novelty and interactive books across a variety of formats.
“Insight is thrilled to continue working with Warner Bros. Consumer Products, extending our current line of Harry Potter film-related products to include Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them,” said Insight Editions publisher and CEO, Raoul Goff. “The Fantastic Beasts line will have a little something for everybody and will feature all of the hallmarks of quality and creativity that fans have come to expect from the Harry Potter film publishing program.”
With an exciting script and sumptuous visuals, the film provides a wealth of material for publishing adult tie-ins. The HarperCollins titles will delve into, and behind the scenes of, the richly textured film and its sequels to enhance fans’ enjoyment of the new stories. Books will include details about how the films were made, the process of art and design, interviews with the cast and crew, and interactive formats such as colouring and postcard books.
Chief Executive of HarperCollins UK, Charlie Redmayne, commented: “We are delighted to be publishing the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them tie-in books. The film promises to be a spectacular rendering of the wizarding world of J.K. Rowling, and the books will be the perfect companions for fans everywhere.”
For those curious about the surname of the HarperCollins CEO, yes, Charlie is the older half-brother of
Fantastic Beasts\' lead Eddie Redmayne. Charlie Redmayne was also CEO of Pottermore a few years ago, so he has many connections to J.K. Rowling\'s Wizarding World.
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them\'s first installment hits theaters and IMAX this November.
Woot! Really looking forward to seeing them in stores. XD
