Why can't our user icones be animated (gif) if we can mettre en ligne content that is?

Why is it that when toi go to mettre en ligne a .gif animated picture for your user icone it only shows up as a regular image?

My main reason for asking is because we can mettre en ligne content that is animated, which leads me to my suivant question; Why when toi mettre en ligne a .gif animated picture to a spot does it come out looking fragmented and all pixelated? does anyone else have that problem, ou is it just a Mac OS issue?

I've always been curious why this is, so I thought I'd ask lol.

Hrmm is might be because most other websites are like that to besides myspace toi cant do gif's. I kinda of like it that way many of times gif's are a trouble to download plus i just l’amour the simplness that is fanpop so to me adding something that like would only distract from the pop plus? if we were so concentrated on are icones then who would add content XD maybe its just because they want us adding content, not looking for fancy icones -R
