I don't tend to leave negative reviews, I usually only review if I enjoy the story. But if it's got like 18 chapters already then I'll probably only leave the review after the 18th chapter, I won't review every chapter.

Mostly I do. Especially if they have hardly any reviews.

If I really enjoy the story and it's a fresh idea I haven't read a hundred times, I leave a review with my thoughts. There are some fandoms *coughtwilightcough* that have the same storylines over and over again that I don't usually leave reviews on - especially when they all have nearly a thousand reviews that probably all say the same things. I have no idea what problem people have with different storylines and new characters.

I feel it's the courteous thing to do.

I almost always leave a comment but i only comment on the most recent chapter if the story has more than around 6 chapters. Also if I really can't stnd a story instead of saying something negative I just won't review at all.

If i start reading a story i don't like i just stop reading it i never leave a negative review. if i find a story that has like a bunch of chapters already ill leave one halfway through and then one at the end. If i catch it chapter by chapter i always leave a comment after each one.

When i read something I always post review axcept moments when i really didn't liked story and stopped in halfway or I really don't have anything to say. Because i don't like comments with only one sentence like "great chapter" ;)

I'm a nice guy, so I only review on stories that I like. I also have high standards, so if a story is chock-full-o'errors, I am unlikely to review it. I also take reviewing more seriously than most seem to; I just can't see myself writing something as monotonous and non-personal as "good job update soon xd." Instead, I try to make my reviews actually mean something to the recipient author, and as writing such a review can sometimes be time consuming, I reserve reviewing for the best of the best.

I don't give a damn if the story's the best fic ever or the most horrid one, if it's 5 years old or just published yesterday, has zero reviews or 200 reviews, I will review. There's nothing more disappointing and frustrating than a reader adding all all your stories in his/her favorite list, adding you in their author list, putting the stories in the alert list, yet does not take another single minute to leave a review by. It's annoying, it bothers me to no end, and so I make sure I'm not another one of those will-do-everything-but-review people out there. However, there are times where you don't have time to leave a review or you simply just don't feel like it, and those times are a exception for me to not review.

Well, usually I do if the story is good enough, but sometimes I either forget to do it or have nothing to say, even if it's a good story.

@SJF_Penguin2: I used to not be quite that way, but I'm sort of becoming the same way. I value the reviews on my own fan fictions that seem to give me more of the reader's thought on the story other than 'great job' or 'update soon' or whatever. Because of that, I give more thought into my own reviews.

I used to not leave reviews because I didn't know what to say. Then this place guilt tripped me. I try to leave reviews now, but I still don't know what to say half the time.

I also don't review really poor ones, but that's because I've usually given up on reading them long before reaching the review box.

I try. But sometimes I forget. If it's a completed chapter fic I usually wait til I finish the whole thing.

I generally don't know what to say in reviews. I don't want to be just commenting "I like this" or "this was cute/funny" all the time. Sometimes I'll comment about parts I particularly liked, questions I have, guesses about future developments etc, but often I'm blank.
