Let's start with the derivation of Ancora. Ancora is latin for hope. In my movie, the Blue Ancora is the only fleur that can cure the Black Morbus disease. I want this to be emotional and really fun! I hope toi like it.
(The Blue Ancora is not a magic flower, like in Tangled, but is just a very rare plant that is the antidote for the Black Morbus)
The characters:
Lief:
Lief is a local boy who is son to Eric, the wood worker of the village. He is strong with shaggy blond hair, blue eyes. He is about six feet tall. For the majority of the movie he is 19. He is funny, always cracking jokes, but when the time comes, he is very serious. He's like a mullet! Fun in the front (face value) serious in the back (behind the scenes).
Lillian (Lilly) :
Lilly is the princess of the kingdom. For the majority of the movie she is 18. She is not allowed to leave the château walls because her father is very protective. She is fun and adventurous, and fisty. She is about 5'11", thin, and she has brown hair and brown eyes.
Eric:
Lief's dad. He is the wood worker of the village and is very nice to the people in need. He is taller than Lief, barely, and has light brown hair that is cut short. His wife died giving birth to Lief, Eric's son... haha (get it?)
Robert:
King of the kingdom. He is tall and strong and loves his doughter very much. He also loves his crown almost as much as he loves his daughter. His wife dies of the Black Morbus when Lilly is 9.
Baldwyn:
This old guy is very old and lives in a hut in the forrest. He is not hunchback, but is always bending over his walking sitck. He has crazy white hair and a pretty crazy beard too! He is continuosly talking to the air as if it was a living thing. (Read plot summary to find out why). He is funny and loves visitors.
Captain Chritopher:
Captain of the king's guard.
The Doctor:
Guess who he is? If toi guessed town doctor, you're right!
Brom:
Owner of the local tavern. He is a hefty man with shaggy black hair. He loves how Eric helps him out without asking a big price for his work.
Elizabeth:
Elizabeth is the Queen of the kingdom. She loves her daughter very much and plays with her a lot.
Plot Sumary:
The story starts off with the king sitting at his bureau looking through some scrolls. He hears a faint roar and the ground shakes a little bit sending ripples through his glass of wine. He looks up and gazes out the window, wondering what it was that he had heard. Then he hears a very loud roar and the ground shakes a lot. He hears screaming out the window. A guard runs in and tells him that the beast that has been terrorizing the kingdom for months was at the château walls, breaking them down. The king and gaurd run outside onto the walls to stop the monster. After the monster takes a balançoire, swing at the wall, breaking off a piece of it, the king takes his sword with both hands and runs down the wall. When he gets to the end of the mur he jumps off and flies towards the monster, with his sword trained on the monster's eye.
The scene changes. Young Lief (10) is holding a wooden toy king and is flying him in the air towards the wooden toy monster that his dad is holding. The wooden king clashes into the toy monster and he chears! (The first scene described was just Lief's imagination of the game he was playing with his dad) Eric picks him up and tells him what a great job he did and how no monster could ever defeat him. Eric then goes to work at the local tavern, Brom's, (he is doing scrollwork on the support beams on the outside.) As he walks to work we get a birds eye view of the town and the castle. We zoom in on the château and fly into one of the windows.
Lilly (9) is having a thé party with her poupées and her mother. She is in a lovely robe and she sips her thé with her pinky extended. They joke around talking about château "gossip." Her mother starts coughing quite violently and excuses herself from the party. She has had this cold for the past two days and Lilly was concerned but then she looks out her window and sees what a beautiful jour it is. She looks at a arbre and runs excitedly outside.
We cut to Eric who is finishing up working on the poles. He walks inside and finds the owner. Brom is very excited that he did this. He calls out to the bar to let everyone know how Eric did a great job on the tavern to make it get noticed plus and how he did it for very little money. He gets Eric the money calling out to his wife "how-a-happy he is!" He takes the money and on the way out we hear that someone can not afford the room. Eric gives him the extra coin he needs and leaves.
We cut back to Lilly who is climbing the arbre outside her window. She stops in the middle of the arbre where she can see over the château walls into the town. She grabs an pomme off the arbre and eats it, wondering what life is like out there. A servant comes running outside and yells at her. At first Lilly rolls her eyes, she had been told not to climb the trees before but she didn't really care. Then she realized that the servant was not yelling at her about the dangers of climbing trees, but that her mother is very sick and needs to see her right away. She remembers the coughing fit her mom had and is now very worried. She hurries down the arbre and runs with the servant to her parents' chambers.
They run into the room and the Queen is lying on the bed, very sick and weak. The doctor is standing suivant to the Queen dabbing her head with a wet cloth. The king is holding her hand. When he sees Lilly, he calls her over. She walks over and touches her mother's arm. She opens her eyes and tells her that she loves her. She says keep on living the way toi are. Don't stop being joyful ou climbing trees. And don't forget that I will always l’amour you. Lilly turns and asks her dad if she is going to get better. The king says, "I don't know darling" The Queen then says to Robert, "Robert, our daughter... Lilly... I think she'll turn out ok." Her hand goes limp as her life leaves her. The King looks up at her face and then at the doctor. (the servant is now taking Lilly out of the room) the doctor looks at the king and shakes his head. Robert let's out a wail in despair for his wife as the scene fades to black.
The scene opens back up and Eric is dressing Lief up in clothes of mourning. Eric tells him that the Queen has died and they are going to the funeral service. They go and there is a nice and quiet funeral at the graveyard at the haut, retour au début of the hill. Lief is holding his dad's hand and Lilly is holding her dad's hand. Sometime in the service they make eye contact, but nothing comes of it. No little crushes no nothin'.
Then there is a montage of the kids growing up and playing. toi see Lief and Eric fighting with wooden swords, and Lilly having a thé party with her dad (he's in a dress) but we also see the king telling his guards that his wife died of the Black Morbus and the only way to cure it is the Blue Ancora. He tells them to find it ou to find a map ou something to find out where it is. We also see Eric in his boutique around town and in his boutique carving wood and what not. We see Lilly climbing trees and jumping from bracnh to branch and jumping up and scaring guards and servants. We see Lief carving some things of his own but also playing in the streets, like scaring some birds and things. The montage stops when Lilly is 18 and Lief is 19.
Lief walks into the boutique and his dad covers the thing that he is working on suspiciously. Lief asks him what he is working on and his dad just shrugs it off, "Oh toi know, nothing much." He then goes into a small coughing fit. Lief asks if he's okay, and he says oh yeah, just a cold. Lief is worried a little bit.
We cut to the château of Lilly hiding behind a statue in the hallway. The king is walking down the hallway and once he passes Lilly, she jumps out and scares him. Robert jumps so high that his crown falls off of his head and hits the ground. One of the four metal strips on the haut, retour au début hits the ground and it bends inward. The king is furious and sends Lilly to her room. She tries to apologize but it doesn't really help her, so she walks to her room in sadness.
We go back to Lief and his dad eating dinner. Half way through, Eric goes into another coughing fit and can't catch his breath. He can't catch his breath and falls to the ground. Lief asks him if he's okay, and he réponses yes but he obviously isn't. Lief gets up and runs to get the doctor. When he comes back to the house, Eric is sitting against the mur on the ground, wheezing a little bit. He tells Lief that he is ok, and that he didn't need to get the doctor and that the doctor can go. The doctor helps him up and does a quick check up on him. He turns to Lief and tells him that the situation is very grim. He suspects Eric has the Black Morbus. Lief doesn't know what that is, and the doctor explains that it was the disease that killed the queen. toi can have the disease for three years until the symptoms montrer up, but once they do it is too late. The doctor tells Lief to go down to Brom's for a couple of hours so he can diagnose it for sure and to see how he can help.
Lief goes down to the Brom's and gets a drink. Brom asks him why he's so down and he tells him. This upsets Brom greatly, and he tells Lief that everything he wanted was on the house that night. Lief drinks again and then starts to listen to a conversation suivant to him. It is a member of the kings guard telling anyone who will listen about his life. He has a little bit, no, he's had way too much to drink that night. One of the locals asks him if anything exciting has happened at the château recently. He tells them the king finally found the magic plant map. The people are confused, magic plant map? They ask him about it and he continues on to explain, "Yesh... a magic plant... map. toi use it to find shome really rare plantsh. There is a vine that makes exshellent wine... a berry that helpsh toi go to shleep... a fleur that curesh the Black Morbush.... and a fruit that helpsh toi poopy." Lief perks up, "Wait what did toi say?" "A fruit that helpsh toi go poop. Are toi conshtipated boy?" "No, no, the one before that." "A fleur that curesh the Black Morbush. Itsh called...." He sways dangerously. "The Blue Ancora, but don't tell anyone! Itsh a secret!!" With this the guard sways and passes out and hits his head right on the bar. Brom walks par and takes away his drink saying, "You've had enough."
Lief runs back to his house and arrives just as the doctor is leaving. The doctor confirms that it is the Black Morbus and that he is very sorry. Lief asks about the Blue Ancora. The doctor tells him that that would cure it, but no one knows where it is. Lief tells him about the map and the doctor says that he has a chance, but he only has three days to steal the map, find the flower, and bring it back to his dad before the Black Morbus takes it's final effect and takes his dad's life. He thanks the doctor, and he tells Lief that he gave his dad a sleep potion to save his pain.
Lief runs into the house and goes up to his dad, who is lying on his lit weekly. He tells him about his plan and his dad tells him to be safe. He tells Lief that he loves him and will always l’amour him. Lief tells him that he loves him too, but he's going to save him. Eric pulls out a collier that he had been making, the project he had been hiding from him. It is a circular wooden medallion on a peice of string. On one side medallion was a beautifly carved number: '20'. On the other side was a beautifully carved, like the number on the back, was half of Lief's name: 'LIE' and the line for the 'f'. He tells his son that he had been making it for Lief's twentieth birthday that was coming up in a couple months. "It's not finished, but I want to give it to you... just in case..." Lief tells him to keep it, that he can finish it when he gets better, but his dad won't let it go so Lief takes it with him. Finally as Lief says again that he loves him and he'll be back in time, the sleep potion kicks into effect and Eric falls asleep. Lief grabs a cartable, sacoche and runs out the door.
Lief is hiding in the forest par the west gate of the castle. The west gate is connected to a dirt road that leads into the forest. There are two guards at the gate. Lief throws a rock he found into the forest creating a noise par breaking twigs and what not. The guards hear it and ask if any one is there. When there is no answer one of the guards walks into the forest to see what it was. When he is out of sight, Lief jumps out and hits him in the head with a rock knocking him out. He then screams like a girl and runs towards the gate. The guard asked him what happened and he a dit that some monster sucked up the other guard. He points to where he "saw" it and the guard looks that way. He then hits him in the head with a rock, knocking him out. He walks through the gate.
Lilly hears a scream and looks out her window. She's sees Lief knock the guard out and come in through the gate. She looks excited and quickly but quietly leaves her room.
Lief is walking down one of the hallways when he sees a shadow coming down the hall. He hides behind a statue as Christopher the Captain of the Guard and the King Robert runs by. As the are running, Chris says to the king, "We found a guard unconscious par the west gate!" They run away and he backs out of his hiding place as he watches them leave. He turns around to find himself face to face with Lilly. She says, "Don't toi think it would have been smart to hide the body?" They argue back and forth and finally Lief tells her why he was there. Lilly is sympathetic with him, after all, she Lost her mom to the Black Morbus. She agrees to give him the map, if he lets her come along to find the flower. After a moment's thought he agrees to her terms. She brings them into the library, where on a bureau is the Kings damaged crown. She explains how she accidentally broke her dad's crown. Lief then figures out that he is talking to the Royal princess, not just some maid. He looks at the crown closely as she goes to find the map. After a bit of searching, she finds it.
They both leave the bibliothèque and Lilly starts leading the way out of the castle. On the way out, they run into guards. "There he is! He's got the Princess! Stop him!" They start chasing them and they run through the gate and into the forest. The guards chase after them. "Don't worry!" Lilly yells, "The guards are out of shape, they won't catch us!" At that moment Christopher bursts out of the trees on a horse and begins pursuit. Lilly knows that the captain of the guard has a strong chance of catching them and yells, "uh-oh" They increase their speed and run into a lake in the forest, connected to a river. On the rive they find a broken down raft, with a broken mast. They run up and take off the mast and push off into the river. Christopher chases them as long as he can and yells to Lief, "Return the princess and the crown, and your punishment will be decreased!" Lief is padling the radeau faster and they fall into a short section of rapids. The water is so fast that they escape the guards. They are safe.
As they float away Lilly let's out a whoop! "Man, that was a close one! They almost caught us!"
She makes sure the map is still dry and it is. She looks at it and discovers that they can ride the radeau overnight until morning. Then they will have to get off to go in the same direction. Then she thinks about what just happened and says, "Wait, what did Captain Chris mean when he a dit he has the princess and the crown?" Lief reaches into his cartable, sacoche and pulls out the king's broken crown! Lilly is furious with him! How could he take that?! He says that he was sorry, he couldn't help it. She cut him off before he could finish. She says that she trusted him, and that he betrayed her. She goes to the opposite side of the radeau and falls asleep. Lief shortly follows her lead.
They wake up the suivant morning on the bank of the river bend. Lief goes to apologize, but she cuts him off again. They follow the map up the mountain, and start talking a little bit. Lief tells her that his mom died giving birth to him, so he knows what it feels like to not have a mom. Lilly feels bad for him, but, she is still mad at him. She says, "I'm sorry, about your mom." He Thanks her and they walk on in silence for a while. She asks him how he learned about the map and he tells her. She says that that guard was bad. She used to scare him all the time because he was always nodding off at his post. He laughs and they talk about their childhood. Suddenly Lille cuts him off and asks him if it was his plan the entire time to steal the crown. He says it wasn't and they argue awhile. After a bit they just walk on in silence. It is nearing night time as they come across the suivant bend and find a cabine in the middle of the woods.
An old crazy guy, Baldwyn, is sitting on the porch. He sees them and yells, "Visitors!" He hobbles down to the porch, and asks them what brought them to his home, but before he lets them answer he invites them inside for some dinner, and they don't want to refuse him, so they follow him in. He looks to an empty chair par the dîner table, tableau and says, "Look! Visitors!" Lilly and Lief are confused and tell him that he already a dit that. He is confused and asks "what?" Lilly and Lief decide to let it go. He asks them again why they are here, and Lief tells him that he cane to find the Blue Ancora, and he has no idea why the royal Princess wanted to come. She yells at him saying that without her he would never have found the map. Baldwyn is surprised, "Why are toi two mad at each other?" Lilly explains what happened and Baldwyn is shocked! "You a volé, étole the crown?" He looks to the chair and says, "yes! He sole the crown, that's what she said" he pauses and stares at the chair. Lief and Lilly look at each other with bewilderment. Baldwyn then says, "oh good idea! I'll tell them" then to the two he says, "if toi don't make up, toi don't get dinner!" The two eventually end up talking to each other. Lief says that he is sorry. He thought the king was going to get a new crown and thought that the one he a volé, étole was useless. He wanted to finally build a good life for him and his dad. He wasn't raised in a château like her and got everything he ever wanted. She then goes on to tell Lief that she never got to really leave the château gates. Once her mom died she was kind of all alone besides the rare times that her dad would play with her. She wanted to go on this adventure to see the outside world, and she didn't want him to lose his dad the way she Lost her mom. They both apologize and hug. Baldwyn is happy to see that they are no longer fighting.
He pulls out his World's famous stew. They sit down at the table, tableau but as Lief goes to sit down in the chair that Baldwyn had been talking to all night, Baldwyn yells at him. "What are toi doing? Can't toi see that seat's taken?" Lief is confused. "No it's not." "Yes it is! I don't go to your accueil and sit on your lap when toi want to eat stew!" Lilly looks at him and tells him to just take the siège across from her. They then have a good dîner with lots of humor, and Baldwyn constantly talks to the chair. At some time, Lilly makes a face at him and they laugh the trio grows very close over dinner. Baldwyn lets them sleep in the cabine for the night and before Lief falls asleep he hears Baldwyn say to the chair, "They're good kids, Susan."
Lilly and Lief are woken up par getting smacked par Baldwyn's walking stick. He tells them that he saw three King's Guards climbing the mountain. He tells them to go out the back door while he distracts them. The two Friends quickly grab the cartable, sacoche and run out the back door. They climb the mountain as they hear the guard say, "You there, have toi seen a young man running this way with a girl?" "Visitors! Have toi come to taste me world famous stew?" Lilly and Lief laugh at Baldwyn as they turn and continue climbing the mountain. As they are running, they run into a clearing. In the center of the clearing is a rather large stone. They walk up to it and see that, carved into it, are the words: 'Susan, The l’amour and light of my life. I'll never forget you" Lief tells Lilly what he heard last night. This was the grave stone for Baldwyn's wife. They stand in silence to pay respect, but quickly déplacer in to get away from the guards.
Lief and Lilly finally make it up to the haut, retour au début of the mountain, and on the peak of the mountain, is a blue and white flower, the Blue Ancora. On the other side of the peak there is a menacing cliff falling into a lake the river made in its way around the mountain. They celebrate and hug, but once they realize what they are doing they separate and are pretty awkward. Lilly finally says, "Well, I guess I'll go pick the fleur now." Lief finally regains his composure and says, "Oh, yeah, good idea" As they bend down to get the fleur Christopher and his two companions burst through the arbre line on horses. Chris yells, "Halt! Lillian! We have come to rescue you!" Lief yells back, "What did toi do to Baldwyn?" "The old man? He was not very helpful and was quite in the way. I did what I had to." Lilly throws a rock at one of the guards and his him in the chest. His horse is startled and stands on his hind legs. The guard could not regain his balance and the guard falls off, his foot catching in the stirrup. This startles the horse and it runs away dragging the guard back into the forest. Christopher and the other guard dismount and advance on the two friends. Christopher tells the guard to get Lilly while he subdues and captures Lief.
Lief and the guard start fighting as Lilly runs into the forest. She starts climbing the first arbre she finds and the guard shortly follows her. She climbs so high that when she is nearing the haut, retour au début the weak branches can no longer support the heavy guard's weight. A branch snaps under him and he falls to the ground. She quickly climbs down the arbre to check in him. He is knocked out but he is ok. Lief and Christopher are circling each other and Chris is saying that he can't believe he took the crown. They banter back and forth and finally Christopher makes a déplacer on Lief. He jumps at him and knocks him over towards the edge of the cliff. Chris gets on haut, retour au début of him and slams him into the ground. Lilly yells, "Captain don't!" The guard looks up and as he does Lief pushes him off. The guard loses his balance and starts to fall off the edge. He reaches out for anything he can grab and grabs hold of the collier Eric made for Lief. The string breaks and he falls off the cliff with the necklace. Lief is distraught. That was his dad's! Lilly comforts him and tells him they need to get back to his dad. They dig up the Blue Ancora and think of a way to get back as quickly as possible. They see the two chevaux of the Chris and the guard that fell off of the tree. They decide to take the chevaux and once they are back Lilly would send for help for the injured guard.
Lief and Lilly ride off into the forest. They ride through the night and arrive accueil in the early morning. They rush in to the house to find the doctor sitting par Eric, who is barely breathing. The doctor quickly makes the antidote and gives it to Eric. The doctor says it will take some time for it to take effect. They wait and wait but there is no visible change. Lief gets a little worried and he picks up his dad's hand. His dad opens up his eyes a little and squeezes Lief's hand before he closes his eyes and his hand goes limp. He looks up at the doctor who quickly runs over and checks on his dad. He looks up at him and says, "I don't know what to say, Lief. It was supposed to work. I'm sorry." Lief cries out and Lilly comes up and hugs him. They hug for a long time while Lief traverser, croix in her shoulder.
Suddenly, Eric starts coughing and he wakes up. After he stops coughing he looks around and finds Lief and Lilly, still hugging, looking at him shocked. He finally says weakly but stronger than it was, "So I see toi found a girlfriend." This snaps Lief out of his daze and he runs to his father's side. "I thought I Lost you" "But toi saved me son. toi did it." "But toi were dead." Eric looks at Lilly, "I see toi replaced me rather quickly though." Lief then remembers Lilly and introduces her to him. He says it is an honor to meet the princess, but she explains that she is not Lief's girlfriend.
Then the door bursts open and Christopher comes in dripping wet. "Stop right there, thief." He explains how the lake saved him and how only one wood carver in town was good enough to make a collier like the one Lief had. That's how he knew where to go. He demands the crown back and Lief agrees to give it to him. He gives the cartable, sacoche to Chris and he opens it up. "Is this a joke?" Chris dumps out the bag and the only thing that falls out of it is a rock the same size of the crown. Lief swears it was in there and doesn't know where it went. Chris takes him outside and throws him on his knees. Chris says, "In the name of King Robert, in the charges of kidnapping the Royal Princess and stealing his magesty's crown, I sentence toi to death." He draws his sword and raises it above his head.
"Wait a second, sonny!" Everyone looks up and Baldwyn is walking down the rue with the crown on his head. He gives the crown to the guard and says, "I fixed this up for you!" The Captain is surprised. He Thanks him and tries to punish Lief again but Lilly stops it. She says she went on her own free will and that she commands him not to convict Lief. He follows her orders. Lief gets up and they hug. She says she will let him alone with his dad and that they will be throwing a party at the château suivant week and she wants Lief and Eric to come he smiles at her and agrees. The camera zooms it as Lilly goes to the château accompanied par Chris. Baldwyn is dancing down the street. The camera fades to black.
