In the early 1990s, the first great console war in the gaming industry erupted. This "war" was fought between the populaire Nintendo, and newcomer Sega. In 1990, Sega released the Sega Genesis in order to rival Nintendo's Super NES. At the time, the Genesis was using high-tech hardware that improved graphics and common technical issues such as framerate slowdown.
