Fantasyland

Dumbo, the film, has donné birth to possibly the most famous Disney theme park ride of them all - Dumbo, the Flying Elephant. It is a ride which is seen at all the Disney parks (and in many other theme parks, just without the 'Dumbo' theming - but often still with flying elephants).

The iterations at Disneyland Paris and California are practically identical. They have a beautiful clockwork theming with decorations which include images of Mr Stork. Timothy souris sits atop the ride. Water cascades below the ride and each Dumbo, with ears outstretched, has a different coloured seat. These seats...

I've titled this article with the French titre for this classic Disney 'dark ride' as that is the version I have most recently ridden. However, I will take a look back at the Disney World version, as well as using some online sources to compare and contrast the Disneyland California and Tokyo Disney versions.


The 'English' titre for this ride is incredibly apt. Scary is what it is. After the usual twisty-turny queue line (no fastpass for this one) toi are placed into minecarts decorated with squirrels and the like. The ride first leads toi through the dwarves' cottage where toi see animaux cleaning...
